Headset for hot temperature suggestions?

Hi!

I just bought a wouxun KG-UVD1P. I'm now looking for a PTT and a headset to go with it. My biggest problem is that I sweat alot and would like to find something that works well and that is not like wearing a second helmet. At first, I was thinking about a throat mic, but most people say it's a bad idea, that it never works, ... Any suggestions?

Any kind that is good for airsoft and not too hot! Cavalvy, from what I see seems to be comfy, but hot, am I right?

I don't know if you are married to a headset, but how about running a shoulder mic? Just clip it up high on your shoulder and you can keep the volume low enough for you to hear it, but not so loud that you Sound like a mall cop. On a lot of shoulder mics you can also get an ear piece plug in for it if you are worried about not being able to hear or broadcasting loudly. I have the same radio as you and got a waterproof shoulder mic for it. Works great.

Muff or swimmer / clansmen headsets may be a bit of a sweatfest if you sweat alot, but my sordin headset doesnt seem to bother me too badly.

You could just wear an in-ear with a lapel ptt then you'd have nothing to get you hot. There are lots available online.

I agree that throat mics suck unless you talk very loudly or buy a very expensive one ala >$200. I've never been able to find a good one.

Shoulder mic plus an acoustic tube in ear molded ear bud

Coachster and others giving me the idea of the shoulder mic, any suggestions of a particular brand/model, same question for the acoustic tube and the PTT?

For the shoulder mic, both of mine are cheapies off eBay. My acoustic tube is a Code Red bought from R. Nicholls

If you have sweating issues, a head set will make the area the headset sits on sweat for sure.

A shoulder mike and with an earpiece would work better. Although I find an earpiece will take away some your stereo hearing.

If the speaker/mike is set low enough, anyone 50 feet away would not hear it unless it is very quiet.

Go for the Cavalvy headset.
Super confortable, fit under helmet or any kind of headgear. It allow you to hear normally with it on and it's as if you did not have anything on your head.
Shoulder mics are good, but not too quiet for stealthy ops. Earbuds fall off and need to be taped to be secure, unless you have a custom hearpeice. Then you kinda lose your hearing on that hear.

I tried many options, the cavalvy headset is the best.
