Can anyone tell me the od of the stock barrel and weather it is straight or tapered. I am having evil thoughts MUHaaaaaaaaaa.

It's a bull barrel. No tapering at all. I had to cut out a straight channel in my 1022 stock for it to fit in properly. However the m1 carbine kit has the proper barrel taper I believe.

Had to take one of those half circle woodchisels to carve the channel to fit the barrel into the thing, was a good deal of work, but it fits.

Other points to note is that you will need to drill the center screwhole in the stock a bit more deeply, as the stock retaining screw there isn't long enough. About a CM or two in depth and that should be fine.

There is also a protrusion on the back of the receiver which is another retaining point for the tactical stock that comes with the gun. You can either remove that entirely, or cut in a slot in the stock to fit it in place. Once set in the stock itself, you don't have to worry about tapping or drilling a hole in that for the screw to fit into. The one in the bottom center is fine.

Well, sort of.

The magwell built into the barrel and receiver assembly has a slope that didn't seem as steep as the real thing, so I had to carve away at that too, but I ended up taking off too much. I'd try it out after carving a new barrel channel before making modifications to it. It might just vary per stock if you're working with wood.

Either way. The first stock was more or less just practice. I plan on buying another (Hell, you can pick them up for 10 - 25 bucks here.) and do some finer, cleaner work on it. Maybe a complete refinish too.

This is a little more than i can afford for my first gun, but bear with me. How about a 10/22 GBBR CQB in a package less that 27" long. All metal construction, stock with 1 rail for scope, 4 rails available. Interested? How about $185 usd plus accessories.

Unfortunately those stocks are prohibited in Canada.

I thought the law states that the overall length of the weapon must be over 26". I have a mossgerg 500 bull pup at 27" and have both RCMP and DNR examine it and they say it meets the minimum requirement. If imported to do a Ruger 10/22, the overall length would be 26 3/4". Does the legal status change if it is applied to airsoft? I'm new so educate me please if I misinterpreted the section in the firearms act?

I use mine indoors all the time, duster gives amazing performance and almost no issues. I actually have more problems with propane.

You cannot modify a firearm to be a bullpup, some factory bullpups can be bought, so long as they meet the standards set. I wasn't sure on the legality of just the stock, as far as I knew, it was legal UNTIL put onto a rifle, but it makes more sense that it would just be illegal altogether.
