Gearbox version 2 and 3 differences

What distinguishing factors can you look for to tell what mechbox you have?

First figure out what gun you have. Then, consult most airsoft dealers and they will most likely say the version of the gun. Just a quick heads up, if it's an Armalite, its Version 2. If its an MP5 OTHER THAN an MP5K, its version 2. Ak's, MP5K, G36C are all Version 3's. Famas are Version 1's.

Hope that helped!

TM MP5 RAS, I've seen websites that say version 2 and 3, so that confused me.

One of the most distinctive points; V3 mechboxes have an attachment/frame for the motor. No more loose motor in the grip that requires all kinds of finicky adjustments.

I think the other new mechboxes have a similar feature.

Good to see you back Grey...

And don't the V2 mechboxes have a hole farther back where you can see the spring? I could just be cracked though. I've mostly only dealt with V3 and up mechboxes.

That's only for V2 armalite boxes. The gap is actually so the body tabs can pass over the mechbox. That isn't necessary for V2 boxes on mp5's or G3's (although you can use the armalite V2 on mp5s or G3's, you cannot use a box with no cutout in a TM armalite)

THe M16 Series Version 2 mechboxes have the hole you're talking about. The MP5's seem to not have them.

edit: HE BEAT ME TO IT! :kill: :kill:
