Bought my first airsoft rifle
Hello,
First post here and more or less here to say hello. I'm sure I'll be posting here much more as time goes on. I bought my first airsoft rifle tonight. It's a G&G M4 Light MAX. I've done a fair amount of research with a friend who has been in the airsoft game for about a year. This gun sounded suitable for me given it's my first gun, lots of customization and reviews seem good enough? Basically looking for any input, hoping I've made a good first gun choice, etc. I am sure it will suit me just fine for a first gun, but any input is welcome. Looking forward to learning more. |

Welcome
1) Get age verified on this forum 2) Downgrade your spring so you can play at games 3) Become a responsible ambassador for airsoft 4) Keep asking questions in the friendly way you have been Cheers |

Like the previous poster said, definitely downgrade the spring to bring it into the limits for most games.
Other than that, honestly some guys hate g&g and i really dont understand why. My m4 started off as a g&g and I love it. A teammate of mine has been running one as his cqb hub for over 3 years now and has put thousands of rounds through it and it's never failed on him. It's a good starter. Welcome to the sport.

If I were OCDP I'd ignore any flak about it being a G&G, there doesn't seem to be any brand that is immune from some kind of trash-talking and quality issues. You're gonna have to open up even the best brands after a few games. Or possibly before your first game. Get used to it. Which brings me to 5) Don't panic if your gun has reliability issues or breaks, it's all fixable and maintenance is part of the game. |

do you like it? - yes
is it an airsoft gun? -yes does it currently, right now, shoot bbs? -yes if it breaks, can it be fixed? - yes it's a good airsoft gun lol As for trash talking, I'd say the problem with G&G is their reliance on poorly refined magnesium alloys. I wouldn't be too rough on the body, but the internals should be okay. Even if the internals break, they're standardized so you can always put tougher internals in. When you're buying a gun, remember that you can replace the internals, but you're stuck with the externals. Last edited by ThunderCactus; September 29th, 2011 at 15:25.. |
