Keeping heavy legdrops up

I am wondering how people stop their leg-drops from falling to the floor?

Do you use a really tight belt? suspenders? magic voodoo?

I have an KWA mp7 and a legdrop for it, but right now when ever i start moving it falls to my knee and thus making it really useless / annoying as shit.

You must wear a belt.

That is a heavy gun to run on a drop leg.

you need to drop this from a stout belt that has suspenders. Also make certain that the weight of the pistol is closer to the hip than the knee.

There are a few ways, depending on your dropleg's setup.

1) Loop upper straps to your pant belt - belt should be cinched tight, otherwise the dropleg will start to pull your pants down.

2) Loop upper straps to your vest/battle belt - note, the vest must have the necessary loops to allow for this.

3) Loop upper straps to your rigger's belt (waist belt you wear around your shirt/coat) - dropleg will pull on the belt like a western gunslinger's rig.

Basically, the dropleg's upper straps need to attach to something - and that something needs to be secure.

Let me add..

Subloads, Drop leg rigs are best used in CQB for short sharp engagements.

It's pretty tough to get anything to stay put on the leg when you are running round in the field.

Buy a sling.

I can't even begin to imagine why holstering an MP7 is a good idea.

The only way I could see this MP7/Leg rig set up work (with a belt), would be to add a sling from your MP7 to your shoulder (across your chest). This way the leg rig keeps your MP7 at your side but the sling supports the weight. Like someone said before, keep the holster very high, near the hand pocket on your pants. If you put the holster lower, it will flap around when you walk, run, and will hit the dirt when you crawl. Same with the sling, if the holster is to low the sling wont be able to keep the MP7 in its place and will get in your way.

If it was me, with something heavier than a pistol, it would be on my back near the shoulder in a holster (like a shotgun) or in the small of my back in a holster/sling combo. My suggestion, try different places at home, if it's not confortable at home, it wont work in the field. Once you found something confortable, try crawling, jumping, rollling on the ground. Next, try drawing it, if its not fast and easy, it wont work in the field.

Have fun

My mp7 is my secondary and works very well as that. Right now i have it stuck looped on my vest using some paracord an that seems to work ok, I can feel it pulling on the side though (i realize ill feel the gun no matter what, it just limits my side to side movement) .

Sling + holster might work, my issue with just a sling is it smoked me real nice in the back so I put it in the front and nailed me in my man bits.

If anyone has slings suggestions I am all ears.

Encase anyone is wondering, i have the following 2 holster like things

Sling + retention loop is the answer for this kind of set up

Sling holds the gun up, retention loop holds it in

encase anyone was wondering, I took the Matrix TMC Tactical Holster and paracorded it the shit out of it to my vest and will be using a sling along with that to make sure it doesn't disappear while running, seems to work not to bad, but i have yet to game with the setup, so time will tell.

My recommendation would be.. get the gun off your leg.. it really is too heavy to be carried there for any length of time.

Its not on my leg, its strapped to my vest. The sling holds all the weight, and the clip stops it from flopping around and hitting me in unpleasant spots.
