A&K Dragunov, Hop and compression issues
Hey there,
Picked up an A&K dragunov off of a freind a couple weeks back, been having issues getting a proper hop on anything over .25 with it. Is there any particular hopup upgrades for this thing? I replaced the hopup sleeve itself and teflon-taped around it, that only helped to a miniscule level. I can't even overhop 'anything' with this. I'm running a 350fps spring in it currently, just so i don't wear down the sear from the original spring. With that being said. Whats the list of upgrades available for this thing? Hoping to make this scope-worthy at the least! Thanks! |

Hmm, the only place I've found so far with A&K SVD specific upgrades is www.airsoftpro.cz.
Their EDM'd steel piston sear is great, I see no wear on mine after 200+ rounds fired (the stock A&K one is crap; mine showed serious wear/rounding after 3(!) test shots w/OEM (450fps) spring) Their CNC'd aluminum piston is a work of art; the piston head is removable, can be swapped for any AEG piston head, and they've press-fit a hard steel ring (lathe-turned after fitting for perfect alignment) where the piston hooks to the sear. They've also made a brass spacer ring you can slip over the spring guide to allow the use of shorter AEG springs. I've picked up all three, and am immensely happy with them. So far my stock hopup has works admirably, I've found it performs best with .3g bbs. I've been told (but haven't tried yet) that standard AEG hopup rubbers will work with a bit of careful trimming. |

Any chance you could linky to the EDM steel piston sear- I just went through the site and cant seem to find it anywhere.
As for scope worthy one of the fellows at the local field has a 170 spring in his, tightbore, and with his scope can make some amazing shots- but with a 170 spring he needs to be so far back that the wind becomes an issue even using .4s. I went with a 140 spring and .36 ammo to save on the sear and so I can get a little closer... but even still I need a x2 scope as the .36 madbull ammo is green and you cant see the darn things over 100 feet anyway lol
