JTF-2 Vest

I was wondering if you would ever see a JTF-2 member wearing this:

http://www.surplusig.com/36/115/283/...draw_Vest.html

I know they don't usually wear issued gear because they try not to be associated with any country while overseas (at least thats what the guy told me at the JTF-2 brief a few weeks ago) but I saw a few pics of them wearing black tacvests but I'd like to ask around to people who are probably a hell of alot more knowledgeable on this subject.

Thanks Alot.

Stay clear of the cross draw,

not as handy as you may think .. and the buckles often are shot off by BBs , making the holster useless.

Basic , 3 pouches a side is ideal, and you can still put a pistol in one of the pouches

Black is bad if you're playing in a forest. It's great if there are ten guys bursting through a door but in Airsoft it's usually not happening. Other wise you're the first guy shot because the big black blob gets noticed fast.

I have the Eagle vest that was copied from. It's a great piece of kit, I got it as a light and easy rig. The holster has a velcro strap and I've not ejected a pistol yet. The grip of the pistol can dig into the dirt if you go prone a lot. They do a matching version with mag pouches across the left, that's the one Brian is talking about.

There is a JTF-2 thread here too with some scraps of info on what they may or may not use.

Canadian SOF love Paraclete products in smoke green.... We don't have many pics, but this is what we can say from what's available. So that would be a safe bet.

Since 2002 you won't see much crossdraw vests used, they are crap in comparison to the many modular products released since then.

I used a US Woodland pattern vest exactly like that for the first 5 years of airsoft. It worked great and served me well. I finally upgraded to a molle chest rig platform, because I found I just needed more real estate to carry stuff on the vest, and attach to the vest for larger games.

A vest like that will do you great if your just starting out, carries what you need, not what you want. Mags, extra battery, some tools, kill rag. Done deal.

exactly.. and still my go to vest for CQB

Would NEVER wear it in the field .. I am a chest rig guy.. End up running a universal chest rig more often than not. Cooler, better carry capacity
