Cutting down M945 frame to compact size
In the case that I cannot source an actual compact frame, is it possible to cut down a regular frame so that a compact slide can fit? My reckoning is that though it's probably extremely difficult to find parts for either version, there may be more availability for the former than the latter.
I've compared both pistols outside and inside, and the interior assembly of the full-size pistol is practically identical to that of the compact version. The only significant problem I can foresee is that I won't be able to cut down the grip, in which case I believe that I'd have to acquire regular grips and a magazine instead. you can just use a full size frame with a compact slide without modification, then you dont have to butcher anything

Unless there's a compensator available that could fit within the frame... |

I think I'd better clarify here and now:
So it is possible to use the Compact slide with a regular frame, yes? I'm fairly sure that the internals match up but that's just based on comparison between mine and the online m945 assembly chart. |
