you can try flipping it to full auto to see if it will release that way. worked for me at least once... (I guess future reference seeing as your rifle is half apart).

Hi Horto,
I get the two big pins(front and rear) off, the small pin just on the top of the trigger, the bolt catch and the mag release off . The gearbox still won t come out. I forced a little bit but it doesn t work. It seems that it is something near the selector that still blocks the gearbox. Is there another step before the removal of the gearbox? thanks |

Selector switch has to be in semi auto then gently wiggle the gearbox out

hi Snakebite1967,
I actually put the selector on semi but something is blocking the gearbox. I mailed WGC and they said that I need to remove the selector in order to pull the gearbox out... However, in videos on youtube, no one mentioned getting the selector removed so I m not sure what to do... |

if youve removed the motor and pistol grip the mag release and bolt catch plus the pin above the trigger. slid out both body pins with the selector on semi it should wiggle out might be tight but thats how they come out u dont need to remove the selector unless u have ambi controls then its just the one on the right side of the receiver that needs to be removed

Even with the rear pin "off", make sure it's not obstructing the gearbox. I find that that's always the case when removing/installing since the pin is just hanging there at an angle.
With the motor and grip removed, you can disengage the AR without disassembling the gearbox. |

Yes, I have ambi controls so I took the selector off as well. Can somebody tell me how to remove the main selector gear please?(not sure if it is the correct name...) thanks! |

I can also attest to the horribly soft screws. Particularly the ones holding the grip to the lower reciever. Replace them ASAP. Also, do a thorough check on the interior of your cylinder. Mine was badly scraped up for some reason, and the chrome coating was all chipped. I replaced the cylinder. Fps was more consistent after that.
