A Couple WE M1911 Questions
I recently got my WE M1911 ("classic" 1911 variant). I was wondering...
1. What would be a good thigh holster for the weapon? (ive learned that the 1911 is thinner than most 1911's so some holsters wont fit so well) 2. What are some upgrades and parts I could install into my replica? (I am firstly looking into a new recoil spring, this is what came to mind for the gun: http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/Guarde...11_p/34570.htm) Thanks, Nathan |

From my understanding, a majority of TM 1911 parts should be compatible. HOWEVER, you have to take into account that there might be some grinding and fitting involved, especially with Guarder parts. But, yes, it will can get expensive. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Serpa is a good holster, and you can go wron with an Uncle Mike's universal holster.

A 6004 Holster.
Best Holster hands down. Be careful when buying, there is A LOT of variant. Take the good one, if you are not sure, head to Safariland's website and look : http://www.safariland.com/

Thanks for the help.
There is a holster store nearby so I will check them out... http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/Guarde...11_p/34570.htm Here is the recoil spring I am interested in, as far as I know, it will fit, although, how does 150% recoil increase actually affect a gun? |

Congratulations to TNL who won a 1 month vacation for his useless comment. Of all the people, he really should keep his mouth shut about gun quality and gun doctoring.

The Marui hammer springs are shorter than the stock WE hammer spring, but if you really want to use it put a BB under it as a spacer. Not all WE 1911s have the same hammer spring: the stock one on the MEU better than the aftermarket one, the one I had in my Classic I replaced. Marui 1911 inner barrels work fine. AFAIK the hopup unit and bucking should also work. The piston had can also be replaced (same as the Marui 1911 and P226): I recommend the Nineball Dyna piston head (the crappy piston head gives a lousy seal). Aftermarket triggers for Marui can be installed with some minor modding/fitting. Blowback unit is also compatible. I got a Guarder (made for Marui 1911) chmaber/outer barrel in my WE MEU. Minor filing on the inside of the slide was required, but it would have worked without it (you would have just seen a few signs of rubbing on the chamber). Grips should fit; I know real steel grips fit okay: I installed both Pachmayr and wood grips. Interestingly a real steel barrel bushing fit in my WE slide, but the WE outer barrel was slightly too thick and would jam in it. However the Guarder outer barrel is slightly slimmer and worked perfectly with the real steel bushing. One last important thing: read my thread about WE recoil spring guides! http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=79053 I don't know how old your 1911 is, or what recoil spring guide they used in it, but if its too long you could end up blowing the front of your slide out!
