Tm mp5
Hey i have a tm mp5 that ive been thinking of upgrading lately becouse im finally tired of the internals being stock! Could anyone point me in the right direction as to what to replace in it to make it shoot straighter and farther.

Look to mechbox.com for disassembly and V2 (version 2 mechbox) specifics.
Look to the Stickied posts on this site (usually at the top section of the forum sections). There's some great writeups by Greylocks and Skruface. General pointers of what to focus in on: - metal bushings - practice shimming - metal spring guide - good hopup rubber have fun with all the screws... |

Thanks for the advice lol and are there that many screws ive never actually looked at where all of the screws are on it.

Yes...lots and lots of screws.
In general, AEGs are basically meant to assemble/disassemble in a set order. Do this...then do that...then do this...etc... Also...if you're doing it right, you shouldn't have to bend/force the parts together or apart. They're just plastic bits and you don't want to crack/break anything. And...for your first few times at it...don't just disassemble everything that can be. Just follow a guide to get at the mechbox. Poke around and do what you want to there and then put it back together. In fact, you might want to do that first before you get any parts at all...just to see if you want to do the upgrades yourself, and to get an understanding of what does what so you can best plan out what you're going to upgrade and what you're not. (for example...your switch assembly might be nearly burned out and you may decide to swap that while you're at it). If you do the above...you'll quickly understand that you're going to want to do all the upgrades that you want to do in one shot. It's a PITA (relative to other AEGs) to take a TM MP5 apart. Fair warning...once you start fiddling with upgrades and AEGs, it often leads to a lot of spare parts, money spent and lots of hours of cussing and swearing. |

Oh god lol to many screws piss me off! Ok if i do end up taking it apart my self and poking around inside how do i tell if parts are worn down or broken or just need to be replaced?

See my first post for normal (non-broken/worn) things that you should do with a stock TM mechbox.
For wear/tear replacements...you're basically looking for things that appear broken (i.e. cracked/torn/a hunk missing out of it) or worn (i.e the metal of the electrical contacts will look black or almost burned through, the piston teeth will look like something has dug out the center of it, etc...). Don't be too worried about it though. With a stock TM mechbox that doesn't have years and years of use on it...most of the stuff in it is probably ok (although see first post for things you really should change anyways). TM mechboxes are very well built for the power level they run at...that's why historically there's so many of the questions "what should I buy?" answered with "Buy a TM". Now...you really should go do your own research. ...search & read...actually do something...search & read more...think...then ask if you still have questions. |
