timing the selector switch

Hey there. i was putting my gun back together and unfortunately i forgot to check mt selector switch when it was being put back together. currently the gun only has fully automatic and safety, how do i time the selector switch so i can get fully ,semi , and safe. also. i have always wondered this. its a noob question but does it drain the battery faster continuously shooting the gun in semi auto because it takes more to turn over the spring

Be helpful to name the brand and type of your gun, but all you have to do once you get the lower on the upper is set to semi, cycle a couple times, and that's it. Nothing special about it, and if you put your gun back together right, you really shouldn't have to do anything to get safe, semi and full. Sounds more like a part or two is worn or you re-assembled incorrectly if you don't get semi.

-Semi drains the battery more per shot vs auto bursts
-If it was a thought you had, there is no such thing as gear timing (just saying)
-if semi doesnt work now and it worked fine before, it's more likely you messed up either with the cutoff lever or the spring between the cutoff lever and the selector switch

Would also help to know what gun it is as different Mech box versions have different quirks.
