I got a famas; need some help :D

So yea yesterday......I got a famas (not sure of the make might be JinPeng or whatever its called....for sure not a TM) and need some help (more like some suggestions) on what i can do with it. Right now it shoots approx 350ish fps with 0.2gram so thats decent enough for now. I have a 9.6V battery in it. I cant believe it actually fit everything else is stock. Rof is okay/decent but compared to my HK416 its lacking a bit so kinda wanna get it on par. im getting 17-19 bps (my friends crono sucks ass so thats an average) on my 416 so kinda wanna get the famas like that too if that is possible.

Ive worked with ver II and ver III (AK and Sig552) gearboxes so this ver I box is quite new to me. So apparently this is the only gun with a Ver I gearbox. Its got a tightbore installed already so what else can i do with it? I surfed the web looking for some info on the motor it uses and my only choice is to get a TM famas motor (this stock motor is lame). If you guys know of a better motor please let me know lol. I personally have not opened this GB yet so i duno if its got metal bushings or if its got a good gearset, shimmed etc....

Thanks

If you want to increase ROF you can do one of three things:

- Increase battery power (voltage, or move from mini-cell batteries to large-cell batteries)
- Decrease spring strength (lower FPS)
- Better motor (Very limited parts selection on that gun)

You can also change out the gears for a high-speed set. But their performance also depends on your spring/motor/battery combination.

Just guessing that EG560 means 560 sized, you can probably fit a 540 RC car motor in there with little to no modifications...

Take it out and bring it to your local hobby shop. I think you might be able to make something.

Really? Have anyone actually tried this? If it was that easy y do ppl alway bitch about how hard it its to get a replacement motor? Cuz the motor is the only thing holding me back from getting a FAMAS.

I dunno if its the one submarinenan is selling. Well anyways just on a little update....I tried the local RC shop but the motor the shop owner showed me....looked really big so i dont tihnk its the same. I still havnt opened the gun up enough to see the motor so i cannot confirm. But it is a full metal gearbox which is a relief cuz i heard that some Famas had plastic gearboxes.... Anyhow so i charged up the 9.6V battery and it turns out i was getting shitty rof is cuz the juice was almost out before lol. So yea im happy with the rof now. Actually im pretty satisfied about the whole gun! I guess i dont really need to mod this anymore cool

The FAMAS motor is really big.

There's several posts on other forums about people fitting RC car motors into them.

NEVER. EVER. mod a FAMAS. You let the blue smoke out, it'll never be the same again.

But what if you're in the mood for some masochistic fun? How much work would it take to get a half decent RC motor motor running in the FAMAS? I take it that it'll be complicated than just drop in and shoot?

Just getting to the Mechbox on a FAMAS is 20X the pain in the ass it should be.

Opening it is a whole different story. Make sure you're able to build a V2 blindfolded before even thinking of opening up a V1
