RA Tech NPAS for Marui

Anyone have any experience with this? This looks promising, but too bad there isnt alot of information out there. If it offers a wide range of FPS adjustment, I might consider getting it.

Nice...

but GBBs are already shooting at a quite low FPS... and I think trying to output more power into the barrel would severely cripple the gas efficiency of the magasines. Some like the Hicapa and Sig series should do fine, not so sure about 1911s that barely empty a mag worth of BB...

Unit is also a lot heavier than a stock rocket valve... slugish response in perspective...

Low as in how low?
Might increase FPS, but it also might just make it able to adjust your FPS lower.

If you're wondering why your FPS is so low...

Nineball claims that their mag lipseal increses fps, I highly doubt its a substantial and constant increase. Using a Nineball Hop Up rubber will definitely increase your fps with the tighter seal and design of the rubber.

While the Ra-tech bulb looks nice, I'm sure there are plenty of other options available that will do the same. Upgrade the rocket valve to a metal one with an o-ring seal, in addition to upgrading to a stronger valve spring, that will add some fps.

BBU seems fine, just make sure it seals nicely with the SD nozzle.

IIRC the KM hi flow valves are adjustable. adjust them to the proper height for maximum gas output.

I think the main culprit is the TK twist barrel. It's designed to allow a cushion of air to flow around the BB as it's exiting the barrel. Which means a lot of the gas that's coming out isn't being fully used to propel the BB. Switch to a PDI 6.01mm barrel and you'll see your fps increase dramatically.

You could also do what a lot of us do, is to buy it and try it out for ourselves, to see what it brings and what the limits are. take the risk and report your findings to the rest of us. We all started with questions, but we all try to give back answers as well.

Thanks for the kind words Daviet! The KM high flow valves are adustable? I never knew that. I thought u just screw it in the magazin dont you?

I'm looking at Illusion's sale thread, It says that that KM ones come with shims for an adjustable strike height so I assume it's adjustable.

ohh!! thats what those damn shims are for.. so in that case, if i add the shims, would that increase the FPS b/c the valve sticks out more, and hence, allows an earlier release of gas when the hammer strikes it?

apparently this npas only reduces the fps, while the mag valve does the boosting

Directly from RA Tech:

Dear Turok,

NPAS kit only allow to decrese FPS instead of increasing FPS.

Best regards,

what a useless product....

So i'll get my stock hi capa that shoots roughly 250 fps to shoot lower? It's not a gas rifle that needs toning down...

Ah, that sucks, the NPAS for KSC pistols INCREASES the fps up to 380, which is pretty cool for outdoors.

I can think of a usage for this - my Hi-Capa (if it were in one piece right now) shoots 340-350 depending what parts I throw in there. Pistol limits here are 330 - adding the NPAS would allow me to use mine as a sidearm... though I strongly doubt I'll ever do that.
