General question: Low FPS
Very simple question for you all. It seems my guns and especially my MP7 have been shooting rather slowly lately. The TM Mp7 is supposed to shoot around 250 FPS. I chrono'd it today at 200 FPS. So obviously, something ain't right.
Please, tell me, what could be wrong with my gun? What kinds of maintenance could I preform to bring it closer to the proper FPS? Thanks!

Spring could have been left cocked, piston head could not be sealing properly, torn hop-up rubber, one of your gears may be missing a tooth.
There's alot that can go wrong. |

Hmm... Okay well I'll try to open the thing up and get pics put up on here and if anyone could point out anything that looks like trouble that would be wickednice. Unless of course its obvious because my gears look like melted shit D:

As Amos said you can't tell anything unless you open the GB.
Another important point : clean the barrel, as weird as it sounds to some, a dirty barrel can reduce the fps dramatically... to the point where BB actually fall out the barrel... |

Also, your battery wont change the velocity of your gun.

Okay I'll clean the barrel, then open the thing up and see if I notice anything glaringly obviously bad and take pics and put em up here...
What do you use to clean the barrel... cleaning rod with some cloth and then some silicone oil right?

Yep, don't force the cleaning rod through the hop up though.

Don't silicone oil after cleaning... that is against the point.
You can drop a little on the cloth before the first swipe to help disolve dirt in the barrel. And an MP7 internal is a PAIN to work. Really. Plus, the way they are built, there is to be some extreme wear on the nozzle over a short time. Nothing can be done against it, it is the way the gun is built. Even worst if you have some clone. |
