Magazine BB retention snapped
Hi guys,
A buddy just phoned me and said one of the two plastic tong/clip pieces at the top of the magazine broke off in his KSC M9 while he was fireing. He was plinking in the basement, the gun stopped shooting and when he removed the clip BBs flew everywhere and one of the retention things was missing. Two questions; 1: How can we save the magazine? 2: Why did this happen? I've never seen this happen in my 8 years of airsoft so I'm asking the Pros. Thanks, Goge

The breakage can be caused by poor quality of the part or wear.
But if it is a fairly recent gun, it is probably because your friend have a bad tendency to slam his magasin in with the slide closed. That causes the lips to ram into the loading nozzle. They do that a lot in movies, so if he is not a player and only plinking, that would probably be the reason. The good thing to do is to always pull and lock the slide, then insert the magasine normally without a hard slam, until it clicks in place. Then press the slide release to let it go forward. Do not let the slide close on an empty mag, it rams the nozzle on the BB follower and can crack the nozzle and the feed lips. |

Its a common issue, especially during winter.
Replace the magazine lip. Simple as that. Even TM's have this issue, so far the only one i found that lasted me the longest were the Shooter's design lips.
