G&G MP5 SD5 receiver
Hey guys,
This is my first post on ASC and I have a question about my MP5 receiver. I know it is illegal to import a receiver but there has been sales here every so often. I will get age verified soon enough. Anyways, the question I had was has anyone run in to a problem, with upgrading a G&G SD5 plastic receiver to a metal one? The reason I ask is because there is a hex nut the attaches the front end to the receiver. All the metal receivers I have seen dont have that. I guess I am SOL for upgrading in the future huh? Here is the nut Last edited by e0137; September 15th, 2010 at 05:09.. |

When upgrading your receiver from plastic to metal. you have to open your receiver in half. before you can put the hop up and barrel in. There's two kinds of MP5 metal receiver, due to different kinds of hop up system. G&G mp5 receiver is hard to find or get. You can use the new version of CA metal receiver with the functional bolt.

I want to say yes, you're SOL but only because from my own experiences this hex bolt has never come up.
I have a TM MP5SD6 and there is no hex nut. I've also looked into the metal receivers and they dont have this either such as JG or Classic Army. There is a member on the forums who has access to the metal receivers but be prepared to dish out if you ever do look into it when you're verified. |
