how do you hold your gun?
I like to hold my mp5 with my forward hand vertically on the mag well.
one of my buddies thought this was weird and likes to keep his forward hand on his fore grip or hand guards on his m4. this feels awkward to me because it feels like im stretching my hand out to reach the hand guard/fore grip. And its not because i have short arms or anything. that just got me wondering how everyone else likes to hold their gun. |

I like to alternate holding my AK using the foregrip and sometimes I like to have it partially on the Magwell, Partially on the gun itself.

I hold to the front as far as possible. If you transition to a real rifle you'll have better control of recoil from there. Also for some if you move the mag while firing you can have feed issues (real and airsoft).

I totally thought this was something different. I hold my AR using a foregrip and have elbows tucked as close to my body as possible. Line of Fire moves with my shoulders when sweeping.

With my hands.
In all seriousness though, pretty much the same as ThunderCactus, only I'll alternate between that and fully holding onto the foregrip. |

I usually alternate in between. Sometimes I hold it by the magwell, sometimes I hold it by the foregrip magpul style.

Well, with my hands obviously, unless I have it slung.
But I put my support hand in front of the magwell of my MP5 too, tried a mounted vertical grip and it worked better than my holding the front grip horizontally, but wasn't nearly as comfortable or fast enough to raise up to sight through than the classic front of magwell semi-vertical grip. Is a natural place for the support hand that is closer to the body than even a vertical grip can achieve, rather close to being like holding a pistol with two hands. |

vert grip thumb break with a G&P QD stubby. Most comfortable position for me since I had broken my distal radius clean through several years ago. I cannot hold a gun by just the fore grip hand guard for very long.
![]() my grip is slightly different than pictured as I tend to grab more of the vert grip without rotating my hand forwards. so more of a cross between vert fore grip/vert fore grip thumb break |

I hold it like a real one, no chicken wing, and I like to have my hand more or less at equal distance from the gravity center, makes it easier for me to handle, even though I have pretty long arms. By distributing weight like that I can stay on target a lot longer even with heavy bolt action or LMG.

I grip the forearm, keeping elbows tucked in to the side. Say no to chicken wing.
Find using the magwell to be kind of uncomfortable, and I'm just not a fan of forward grips. |
