So I just picked up a brand new Marui Python.

I had a friend that used propane in his python and he broke the o-ring, I suggest that you use duster gas.

Older TM guns (and most Japanese gas guns in general, like Marushin, Maruzen, WA, etc) are designed to be run on 134a (duster). Using anything else is foolish and just asking for trouble. You don't put diesel into your gas car just because it's cheaper, do you?

Well, I gassed it up for the first time a week ago and shot the thing. It works, but it makes quite the hissing noise after the shot is fired. Have I blown something internally? Or does it behave like this all the time?

What did you use to gas it up?

Propane. I decided a little bit wouldn't hurt.

You used propane after people told you not to?
And now you're wondering if it's broken? Looks like you decided wrong ![]()

Well, I know it was recommended that you didn't use propane, but I hadn't heard anyone actually say that it would be bad. I know a guy who uses propane in his all the time, with no problems. As soon as I used mine, a weird hissing noise. So I guess I broke something?

Hmm. Kinda of related, but not entirely, but I didn't want to clutter with another thread. Since I shouldn't be using propane on an older model of Marui Beretta, what procedures/ parts need to be changed in order for me to use propane on it?

Buy an other one.
It is not a simple upgrade. It is the whole gun that is made to break at higher pressure. That is because laws in Japan prevent anyone from having a gun or a toy that shoot above 1J. For this reason, the guns are made to self-destruct when you try to make it shoot harder. |

Damn. The Python is turning out to be more trouble than it's worth. Might take it to the classifieds. It seems more like a plinker piece to me. Even when it did shoot, it made this really wimpy sound like when a GBB magazine runs out of gas.
