Happens to me with my KSC and i found out that it's soft metal and it's like curves up with no reason. (i think, i'm not a gun doc). Take of the slide and just press with your thumb on the slide release or what ever you call it and you will see it go in a bit just enough to clear the slide.

You might just be pushing it up yourself by accident, it's something people new to Sigs often have to look out for. Try firing a few mags with your thumb down and see if it keeps up if you haven't already.

Silly the little plastic peice that the follower pushes up when the mag is empty. Might just be some friction causing it to stay up.
