Iron sights for specific gun
Hi,
I currently own a M4 S-System and I'm having a bit of hassle with my airsoft's current iron sights. First of all, they feel cheap due to their JG nature and the front sight adjustment tool is plastic, therefore, useless  I'm looking into changing both of them. The problem is the SIR rail. Currently, the rear sight is like this : It attaches to the rail on the upper receiver. The problem is, the SIR "rail" is fixed on top of the rail of the upper receiver and I only have a small area to install the iron sight. Another issue I have is that I'm also using a 30mm Aimpoint (G&P) on a cantilever mount. Due to the fact the Aimpoint is sitting on the second rail, I cannot cowitness my sights. Is there any kind of adapter that would fit inside that small area and replace it with a rail on top where I could add maybe some Troy BUIS or some MBUS instead? I tried Googling it, but I really don't know what exactly to search :/ Here are the pictures :

If you moved your rear-sight up it would be completely useless. Unless you went with a rail mounted front sight as well.
However if you bought a low-mount for your Aimpoint it would most likely co-witness just fine. -Grant |

Yeah I'd love to replace both sights for like MBUS and place a gas block up front.
I tried with the standard L mount which makes the iron sights aim like one CM below the red dot.

That 1cm lower is exactly what you want. A lower 1/3rd co-witness is generally considered to be idea.
An absolute co-witness is not especially useful unless you are running flip-up sights on both ends of the rifle. -Grant |

Ah that's good to know, but still it's a bit too low since with the normal L mount, part of my view is obstructed by the Aimpoint lense ridge.
With the cantilever, I can't aim thru the hole in the mount. I guess I'll have to do it myself and make it ^^
