Blown Fuses

For some reason the fuse in my M4 keeps blowing. Is there a trouble shooting list I could go through? I've changed it twice in under a minute. The gun starts to cycle for the barest of seconds then stops. I open it up and the fuse is blown. Any thoughts?

Pinched wire or shorted posibly even grounded out somewhere lots of things can blow a fuse even a jam will do it. I would start by checking the wires and making sure the fuse ampage is correct

How do I go about that? What should the ampage be? The fuses themselves say F3AL250W.

look at the wireing to see if there is any visible slices or bad bends that could possibly be a break in the wire. if a Voltmeter is accessable check for a ground. you may have to go as far as tearing it all the way down to see if there is a pinched or crimped a wire somewhere. also Yes 30 amp 250W fuses are good no problem there.

If the gun is trying to cycle then it sounds like something in the mech box is jammed. If it was a dead short due to wiring then the gun would not likely even try to turn over. Stop replacing the fuse and get a tech to look at it before you destroy your motor or battery.

^ +1 If you are repeatedly blowing fuses, you have an electrical issue that needs to be looked at immediately. Before you harm electrical components. Get it to a gunDoc ASAP. And quit using it until it has been repaired.

where are the burns happening on the fuse? What colour is the burn? black or white/grey?

there is a thread on here explaing the difference of the blown fuse and what it means. One is mechanical the other means electrical. This iwll be very helpful to your gun doc when you visit.

I do not have link, you will need to use your internet ability.

Good hunting.
