I've been putting mine when they're practically empty (but not 100%) into my blue bin for a couple years now.

If you have an MEC Co-op store nearby I'm pretty sure they take em.

I know that they take batteries (you're actually not "supposed to" throw them in the trash).

I believe hardware stores like Rona and Home Depot take them as well, in addition to your local transfer station/landfill and possibly your local recycling station.

EDIT: HEY! I got an idea, you know how green gas is just propane with silicone oil in it right? If you use one of those couplers to fill a Coleman can, is it possible to put some silicone oil so that when you "refill" it that the can now has propane infused with silicone oil?

This is just an idea but it would mean that you don't need to fumble around with silicone oil any more and you can just fill up directly with the propane canister instead of having to carry around the canister and silicone oil.

Might actually work, but keep in mind, the silicon isn't gonna get distrubuted properly, in the beginning its gonna be somewhat even, towards the middle, your gonna get more, and in the end itll be just propane. Also don't forget the MAC setup will have the liquid propane add into the bottle side ways, unless you use a extension hose that has the same size as the tap of the propane tank. I'm gonna get refill propane tank this week and Ill see how it goes. But bear with me that non of my gas gun is working. (USP is waiting for its SD slide, GBBR is waiting for Pro-Win magazine)

In Calgary, empty propane bottles can be taken to one of the designated fire stations.

The adapter is cool, I don't think the angle is neccessary, you could probably hook up a regular propane hose and use that to refill your tanks easier.

Hell, just get a hose and put a propane adapter on it and fill up your mags directly from the big tank :P
