Where to get a Blade Tech or a Safariland?
Hey Guys
For those of you that have a Blade Tech Kydex or Safariland 6004/5 Drop Leg Holster, where did you get yours from?? I'm looking for one that would fit a MK23. Thanks Last edited by landwarrior; December 11th, 2009 at 22:42.. |

opticsplanet is a pretty good site, beware its US. And that the price for shipping on USPS is calculated individually.

AFAIK...Opticsplanet will not export Safariland, but... and for those of you who know what I am about to recommend, I'm choking on my own words even sayin this... R. Nichols is the exclusive Canadian distributor for Safariland so you'll have to go through them. Be aware that from time to time, reports of less than helpful customer service for "civilians" seems to crop-up on various discussion groups, mostly attributed to their complete lack of interest in anyone not connected with their larger supply contracts.
IF however, you're looking for a not too shabby and reasonably-priced clone of a 6004 drop leg, try Huang's (Dragonred) Airsoft. His are quite good though lacking the guard over the thumb break but more importantly, they don't have Safariland's nice suede, anti-scratch liner so you'll have to roll your own solution for padding the interior of the holster. Also, none of his come with the tac-light option so if you have/want one mounted on your pistol, you're stuck with having to go with the real deal and pay the ridiculous Canadian prices Nichols charges. Finally, your last option is to wait for your WTB request to be answered by someone here. Good luck, 'Fly

Again...eBay...I got a 6004 for my 1911 for about $60.
If you're worried about importing a holster (or can't get it imported at all) and with any luck live near the border, you can always get it shipped to a PO Box Stateside and then walk it across yourself.

I've looked at many sites, I guess my best bet is to just get it from their main supplier, since the ones I'm looking for are very hard to find =(

Can a Mk23 fit a USP holster? Cuz there's tons of 6004's for USP's on eBay...

Could someone tell me of the holster a restricted import item into Canada, or is it just that the US reseller won't ship it?

I got my first Safariland from the States no problem, and assume my next one will be a similar deal.

It is probably just the reseller. I had the same problem but I really wanted the holster. If you can't get the reseller to ship to you, look into a parcel forwarding company. They give you a U.S. address and will forward anything frmo the states. It cost me $8.50 and shipping when I used Shipito.

I recently ordered a BladeTech holster straight from the manufacturer. They will ship to Canada. Takes them roughly 2 weeks to prepare a holster right now.
http://www.blade-tech.com/Tactical-T...rs-pr-875.html They do make them specifically for Mk 23's. |

Have you tried your local gun shops?
I went to one in Calgary the other day and was surprised to find serpa/safariland/bladetech holsters, etc. but they were all for Glocks, 1911s, P226's, etc. The MK23 is not a common gun though, you could ask to see if they can order a holster for you. I'm sure a gun store would know what they are doing and where to order things like this without fear of it not shipping.
