ROTHCO COMMANDO SWEATER - How to cut the sleeves ?

For fall games, I got myself a (100% Wool) ROTHCO 6348 GOV'T O.D. WOOL COMMANDO SWEATER.

The sleeves are like 4-5 inches too long, looks kind of strange to roll them since the shirt is meant to be a tight fit.

I was going to just cut them and burn the edges of the cut... ?

But I tought someone might have a better trick.

Thank you

Commando sweaters are meant to have turned-back sleeves; not "rolled", but folded back up the sleeve.

Just fold em back ... one fold back at the wrist however long you need it .. don't roll them.... you can't cut them its knitted .. they will unravel and you will ruin the sweater. you certainly can't burn it to stop it from unraveling.. its wool not polyester.. wool just burns.
