Good,
Keep in mind you're looking at $300 minimum for a decent AEG. High end AEG's can easily reach into the $650-$750 price range... and all of this isn't including batteries, chargers, magazines and BB's. Airsoft is a very expensive sport, and you most certainly get back what you put into it. My new gun cost me over $1500 but it's one of the nicest shooting guns I've ever used, it's made out of solid steel and I don't regret it at all |

$2-300 for a basic AEG, just to get things started. $10-20 for a hicap. $20-80 for eye protection, hell you can ever rent them for the first few times. $40-60 for a decent battery (could borrow one by chance) Hell, you could borrow mostly all the gear your first few games. Now this is just to get started, sure once you've tried the sport out go ahead and blow what you want. But just to get started? $1,00 no way.

You'd be luckier finding a used car with your budget regardless if you go with a sniper rifle, gas blowback gun, or AEG. If you seriously want to get into airsoft, you'll need a bigger budget no "if", "and", or "buts" about it. Save up.
An example of what to expect. My first AEG was $650, first pistol was $400, all my gear comes up to $700, my total expenditure this year on airsoft (my first year) was almost $4000.

Yeah by all means, once you've tried out the sport feel free to go nuts as you please
But starting out, I'm mind blown that people say the loads of money 'required'

I see kraken players come and go every month... but the new players that are willing to drop 600 bucks on a gun are the ones that will stick around for a long time. |

Thanks Amos for postin' my comics stuff, I'm flattered
But yeah, Its good to see that we've been able to steer a newbie in the right direction. But just to seal the deal on the whole 'Don't get a sniper rifle' thing. I just recently had to sell my first gun (CA M24) because I couldn't afford to repair it to simply get it 'firing'. Now i've got a project i can pick away at slowly... But either way. Unless you are totally confident about what you're going to do with a sniper rifle. Avoid them like the plague and let the experienced people do their thing. I've always wished I had chose an AEG instead since they're a bit easier on the wallet to get running. Hahaha. |
