Alright, the community have spoken. I do admit that i could've gave a more detailed description of the unit ,but since my first language is french and since i am not used to handle RIS or have any knowledge of screws n how to fix them etc..i tried to describe to the best of my ability, but as i said in the pms, i wanted to take a better look at it, but he said his gunsmith should be able to fix it etc...

anyway, i'll respect the verdict and end this dispute : I'll refund him the 140 $ he asked, once i get the unit back.

sounds good ? sorry everyone about this mess...i was kinda in a bad mood these past days and this little episode didnt help, i shouldve fix it with him earlier.

thanks everyone !

Generally the seller who is at fault should be the one to refund the buyer first...

Kos is a well known guy in the community, he wont screw you over.

True but this isn't a store so it doesn't hold up that much.

Good for ylasfar doing the moral thing, props to you.

Really?

Because if a seller that sold me something falsely... then offered a refund ONLY after I returned the item... I would have a big problem with this.

That gives the seller who hasn't been 100% truthful before the chance to run away with the item AND the money. That's a risk that I don't think anyone should have to take.

But the item was selling for $175 Shipped (original asking price). He states the item was $91 USD (pretty much $100 CDN) plus Canadian taxes would put the item about $120 max. Now add shipping so say $50 for that and you come out to $170 now.

He was selling a USELESS item for about 90%+ of the price of a brand new one that would have worked!

That is on the VERGE of scamming there in my eyes... if the seller knew the item was unusable without being repaired why ask almost brand new price for it?
Something is only worth what you pay for it. If I could list something at 90% of the time, have someone buy it, I would. I'm sure you would to.

Of course IF the item was USABLE and as a USED item worth 90% of what I originally paid for it.

Would you buy a TOTALED Car for 90% of the price of a used one? Buy a $20,000 car, crash it, then sell it to someone for $18,000 but don't tell them it's been crashed and expect the buyer to be ok with it?

It has been settled! Thank you, Younes. And I'm sorry it hit you at a bad time. But, business is business. I hope there's no bad blood.

I'll change your trader ratings, and hopefully you'll do the same. If not, that's fine.

Thanks gentlemen. You've been extremely helpful, especially the older ASC guys.

[Please keep open till ylasfar has received his item. Thanks]

But, isn't that the same thing as a seller sending the item first before receiving the money? Not gonna happen. The money should always be sent first.

I don't think anyone disagrees on that. We were talking about personal sale guaranties/warranties (when the sh*t hits the fan).
