My "Mike Force" Green Beret impression
Took my Tiger Stripe for a spin Weds night, a nice low drag loadout.
The M16 is a Classic Army M16A1 (a solid AEG, no wobble anywhere) My apologies to John Wayne and the Green Berets.

My god, you have either too much money or too much time, or both.
Very nice impression. |

Too much time and too much disposable income. Cheers for the thumbs up!

Looks great.
If I might make a suggestion, however, get rid of the e-tool. Mike Force never had time to dig in. Replace it instead with a second canteen. Move the grenade from your suspender to the 1956 Ammo pouch. That's what those loops on the side are for. If you want to have something on your suspender add a compass pouch or a smoke grenade. Anyhow, you are on the right track. Cheers

Well I<ve been out of the Nam soft loop for a while (though never been able to participate in TFC...) but thought I'd give you a few tips on the MF kit since that's exactly what I had (still have)
Screw the buttpack, it was never worn, you have to remember these guys either ran recon mission or QRF stuff, so it's either Indig ruck or Trop. Also, I've seen a few pics of MF with the standard M56 belt kit, but the most popular combination was the older BAR belt (the Korean vintage for the most part since it was OD). As for the canteen carrier, the 1940 (or 1910) are the way to go, (though I personnaly ran two M56 at the back of my BAR belt, found the 1910 too wobbly). E-tool, need I say more? Beret, good for camp picture Get a boonie hat or at least camo beret (parachute material, TS) I understand getting era correct kit is getting harder so here's a tip, lot of people run med ALICE pack with the frame removed, it's almost the same as the Trop (without the goddamned X frame digging in your back). Here are a few MF pics for you enjoyment I'll post my kit soon if you don't mind

All good advice there bud, I will take it on.
I love the idea of a OD BAR belt you could stuff a heap of mags in there...I knew about the BAR belts from a Vietnam War nut/friend of mine, i just need to locate one. I must admit I didn't know about the lack of etools and buttpack on the standard M56 set up, but i will note that for the furture. Get rid of the Beret?! Never! yes it looks camp, but I bloody love it. I have never been a fan of Boonies to be honest, I don't own a single one. A camo beret sounds interesting though... I got my Tiger Stripe from here, its all the proper pattern, and the right cut:http://www.royaltigergear.com/produc...products_id=32 A good store I think, pretty fast delivery and good communication (and Paypal!)
