Sanding TM metal =D

So, from what I remember, TM metal is a zinc and aluminium alloy, and both metals seperately seem to form pretty stable oxidized compounds. ZnO, and Al2O3.
Anyways, since I installed a AS slide, I thought the TM frame looked pretty awful, so I took the liberty of sanding it down, and I thought I would also take the liberty now of posting some pics.
Ooh, I also sanded the plastic stock TM outer barrel, so it has some of that nice "brushed aluminium" look.

Thoughts?

Before oxidation (right after sanding)

After oxidation (around 1 month)

Actually looks nicer after it has oxidized! haha. That is really good though, looks awesome.
The barrel actually turned out quite nice. Has the metal slide chewed the plastic barrel at all?

The AS slide was a perfect fit except for the tabs that protrude at the bottom rear of the slide (where it slides along the frame); only the very back of those thingys needed sanding, about 1-1.5mm total, then it fit like a dream. The scratches you see on the outer barrel were the result of my hesitation with deciding a vertical or horizontal pattern XD.

From my experience its actually quite dull the oxidized finish, and after longer period it get more grey/dark color.....

I used a dremel.

Here are some pics of it.

What Illusion told me which is an excellent idea but I haven't had time to try it is to spray paint it with a polish clear coat so the finish locks in under the coat. Neat idea, huh?
