I use a Crayola. Went hunting through my son's crayon box. That's what I used to do trades on several of my guns. Works great.

Huh thats interesting, I was curious of that. By the look of your pictures it seems to have turned out quite nicely. Nice build Crunch, hope she works well for you.

I put a few mags through it last night. At about 20 feet, I'm getting groupings of about 1 inch. Wish I had semi so I could try some precision shooting, but if it will do that in auto, then it should be a killer in semi. I'm loving this gun more and more.

The bolt is functional indeed. On the newer CA MP5s, the hopup adjustment is actually inside the gun as with Armalites. I have the older CA hopup with the standard external lever attachment, as I wasn't able to source one of these newer style hopup systems. I'm considering actually painting the mechbox shell, cylinder and cocking lever spring black so that the internals don't look as conspicious when the bolt is open.

Just an update - I was away for the weekend visiting a friend out in the country, and took my MP5 out to give it a test fire. Holy shit, this thing kicks so much ass. I was shooting at a wind chime hanging from a tree 75 feet (measured) away and hitting it without issue. There was a small sign 8 x 10" sign on a tree 110 feet (also measured) away, and I could tag that with little issue with the majority of my shots, with only the odd round curving away occasionally because of the breeze. I officially love this gun in every way now. So that's another 3000+ rounds through the stock JG internals with no new issues other than the existing cutoff lever issue.

It's very sexy indeed, I miss mine.
Now not to be a dick or anything but....this is a classic case of "TM-ism" here. You bought a plastic gun with basic components. Then you upgraded everything and spent the money for those parts, plus the pain in the ass to get them, pluss the cost of the intial gun....to get a nice, fully "upgraded" piece.... My point....why not just buy a brand new CA MP5 man!! I've had 2 of them....they are solid beauties! Could have saved some coin and stress! Anyway, you've got a sexy pieve now so....you're set! |

It was a twofold thing. First, it was the finances of things. I wanted an MP5 that I could use "now", but didn't want to blow a huge wad on it. JG was the way to go. And secondly, I wanted an upgrade platform to build my first custom gun.
By the time all is said and done, I'll have a gun that's externally accurate (plastic and metal where it should be) with high end after-market internals (have all the parts, just waiting for the JG mechbox to fail) that will cost less than a new CA would have. I'm there now externally, at least, for about what a stock TM would have cost me. I look at this as the equivalent of buying a Kraken and giving it the full-meal-deal upgrade. One way or another, I'm very pleased with my gun now. It was nice to see it turning out so well and being such a great performer when I tested it out.
