The ERT teams run MC or other woodland type camos because I know the news would have you believe otherwise but there are actually some folks in rural areas who are up to no good.
It's not all like Wilson's picture.

There should be a pot hole pattern if they want to do Montréal.

Imagine someone wearing this and them a bunch of enemies approach. The guy stops dead where he is to blend in and one of the enemies walk into him.....
Yeah, he's toast. Unless he has a light machine gun painted the same way so that he can blend in again after shooting and flashing the enemies......

Actually, from what I understood it's for CIJRU, it would mostly be used for NBC suits.

so the first pattern i can see is real practical. especially once you're all kitted up with tac vest, leg rigs, comms, slung rifle. seems like a waste to make yourself look like a building when you're still going to look like a giant mess of pouches over top. not to mentionit'll be another 3 years before they see tac gear in the same cam. like when in afghanistan we were still using green tac gear on a tan uniform.

This pattern looks like it would be most effective. I'd omit the Velcro patches, though. Having flashy morale patches would defeat the effort. A little graffiti sprayed on might help.

I read through the replies.....the pictures shown aren't front and back. They are 2 different versions. The back shot shown is a newer version (CUEPAT 2) and the 2nd photo (which just happens to be a front shot) is the "more traditional CUEPAT 1"

seeing the first pattern almost tripped me up there for a sec which is probably why it might work if it makes you do a double take. As for blending in urban environment like Toronto or Vancouver, dress up like a hipster or a douchebag. In other words, look like you're a local in the city, blend in with the general population. That is a good urban camo

Could be Canadians, or people from another country. Why is this weird? Do you believe that Canada has no threats to it?

With a vest covering your clothes, and pouches covering the vest, I really can't see V2 working all that well. There'd be so many different cuts of fabric that the wearer would just end up looking like they're wearing a tie-dyed uniform. The V1, on the other hand, wouldn't have that issue.
