Magnum motor broken?
So I open up a new magnum (long) motor pack and i test it out and nothing happens. All i hear is a click then it gets really hot..
So did i get a faulty motor? is it fixable? whats going on? Thank you for your input and help. |
nvm, i figured it out:P

why dont you share with the rest of us, as to what you have figured out?

he connected the + and - wires to the wrong sides perhaps?
|
well... its really werid but doesnt overly matter to me.
I have a ICE charger with its built in motor break in function. So i used the function and it said that i have to connect a motor when i already have it connected. So being confused as to if the motor was broken, i used a normal 8.4v battery to it and it worked.. So in conclusion, my charger is broken or the motor is being difficult. Cheers |
Remove the motor brushes and look to see if ther are clean, no arc marks ir heavy pitting. If they are clean, re-install the and spin the motor by hand. It should turn easily.
You can also clamp one of the leads with a meter and you'll know if it's drawing excessive current during free-air running (no-load). |
i have not done used a meter yet to monitor the current flow, but i can say since it was NIB the motor does turn normally by hand.
ill have to try your strat. Thanks mcguyver. |
