Kraken Ak-47 is jamming
i have a aftermath kraken and it ran fine with the 1000bb's that came with it.but then i started using the 20.g's i got from walmart and it started jamming if i go in full auto.and also jams sometimes in semi.so i was wondering if the walmart bb's could effect the guns prefomence.and if so what bb's should i use.
|
Solution: Don't use Walmart BB's.
Use something good like BB Bastard, KSC, or Madbull. |
It could be the BB diameter that's making it jam in the barrel. Are you using seamless BB's? EDIT: That was two thoughts. If the BB diameter is too wide or if the BB's have seams. One will make it jam, the other may make it jam but will most likely chew up the inner barrel.
I had this problem with one of my own guns the solution was to just switch Bb brands (I ended up using Madbull, BB Bastard, and Metal Techs exclusively). Theoretically though, your gun shouldn't be "that" finicky for certain brands of BB's. |
The wall mart by me has got 0.20g bb's called arctic white that are bio and made by cybergun. They have given me no problems.
|
they usually have seams or are made inconsistantly, they will damage your inner barrel as well as get jammed in there. go on ASC mart, airsoftparts, ect ect. Since your inner barrel is 6.08, any BBs those places sell will do fine.
|
alright ill buy some bb bastards
|
It pains me to read about Wal Mart BB's being cycled through an AEG... Make it stop!!
|
Well it's a cheap AEG anyways. May want to consider a new inner barrel depending on how badly that thing's been scratched up. You can use walmart BBs for M203 shells if you ever get one. (unless it's one of those shells with the non-adjustable hop-up thingy, then all seams will do is tear those.

i have the kraken too and the BBs 0.20 bio from walkmart are crap.Dont use that into you gun.A litle invice change you hopup and put a prowin hopup they are in metal and they are for sale on airsoftpart.ca.Use a quality BBs and you will never jamming again.Have a great day

Not sure of the .2's I found from wal-mart's brand but they feed fine in everything I've used, the only problem we noticed is that they aren't polished, No seams or nothing just not polished.

As mentioned, the BB is of irregular diameter – as you put them in the magazine, don’t dump them in let them flow inspecting the BB’s as they pass from the container to your magazine. By doing this you can usually spot irregular and odd-shaped BB’s and remove them before you fire them thru your hop up. I’ve had VA BB’s that look like bullets, which if not caught when putting it in the magazine would have jammed the magazine or jammed the rifle.
Or maybe you're using too much hop up. Turn off your hop up, fire a couple shots – see where your BB’s are going and adjust accordingly. My JG SiG 552’s hop up is very forgiving, if there's not enough hop up, the BB will just roll out of the barrel. I adjust the hop up according to that; once the BB stopped rolling out – I fired until it was straight. I was having jamming problems with this rifle until I realized that it was due to too much hop up used. Due to availability in my area, a lot of airsofters use Walmart BB’s, and once you understand the dynamics of these two important steps – your jamming problems will be a thing of the past. IMO - there's nothing wrong with Walmart's .20 Bio-BB's... run what you got! Cheers! |
no didnt work.fired 2 shots then jammed.so i unjammed it changed hop up again and didnt work.so i unjammed it changed hop up again jammed.

OK, this might sound crazy... but is your battery fully charged?
My buddy has a kraken and it was jamming - I tore it down to the barrel and hop up to see why it would be jamming and everything seemed fine. Lubed and cleaned it, put it together and everything seemed fine, firing about 50 rounds with no jamming. The next day, it jammed. I figured it might have been the mechbox, but on a whim I tried a fully charged battery and he’s had no jamming problems since… |
ok man ill try it.

Spellcheck ftl? Anyways, chill out there buddy. The reason this is called the Newbie Tank is so people can ask questions and get responses without people priming the flamethrower... No big deal, maybe he just wanted to say that for him those bb's worked well.

quality..

if so then i would recommend buying bb's from that webiste/store. |

They aren't the best but they aren't fucking square and gonna jam it every 2 shots. |
Actually my piont was that I could Identify the bbs I used and had success with. Perhaps the jamming is due to another brand of bb walmart stocks (lasersoft). I have used the arctic white in my stock guns that shoot under 350 fps with success. They are Bios and do not have a polished surface.
I have purchased Bios (0.20g) from my local shop that are made by cybergun as well, they are green with no polish and the same count (5000) at double the price. They say on the package guaranteed not to jam. To this date I have not seen them perform any different than the arctic white from walmart (that is when I can see them). Tested today alongside the arctic white and velocity arms 0.20g polished at 60ft. Similar operation in its accuracy (same groupings), only difference I noticed was that the Bios had grouped a little higher. Either I was positioned a bit off or perhaps the bios get gripped by the hop-up differently. On a side note, my 400fps rifle only gets fed 5.97mm +/- 0.001 0.25g bbs just to ensure it will perform properly. I use the walmarts when under 350fps and stock barrel. It is important to give your investment the best in parts and ammo to keep repairs from being frequent. |
Well I would only imagine the hop-up gets a little more bite on them.
|
My breathing was off for one grouping and so could have been my form, but I did the velocity arms after the Green bios and after the white bios and then both bios in succession. So it just being 60 ft the whole idea for me was how the grouping would look. And everytime it was identical, well close enough. Hard to say why cyberguns bbs wouldn't work in a stock aeg, they don't make the worst products.

Krak'it open and see if the nozzle's damaged or slipped off the tappet plate.
Ensure your hopup is completely off (the slider should be all the way forward) when testing. With it off...the barrel should not be obstructed by anything. If the hopup nub is pushing down into the barrel while the hopup is off (a little, little bit is ok...but not a lot) then you've got to look at the nub, rubber, hopup unit. The edges of the hopup rubber should be evenly seated and not buckled or twisted in any way. With the hopup unit/barrel assembly out of the front end...drop a bb into it. It should sit on the edge of the hopup rubber. A slight push with something ( (an allen key works) should pop it past the lips of the hopup rubber and it should just roll down the barrel on it's own. Try a bunch of BBs....if they all go through...use those to test with. If they jam...toss the whole bunch of them. When reassembling...make sure you don't have the wires jamming up the front of the mechbox and receiver/hopup. That will push the mechbox back and cause an air leak. The ring around the hopup unit should sit flush and tight up against the mechbox shell. Best of luck, Tys |

Alright so if I use BB Bastard .20 bb.s It will NOT jam at all. Casue I had the same problem cept I got them at Bass pro, These exact same ones, they jam all the time, so ill seel them to my friend with a gun that has less Fps, it works in his, It would work sometimes but Keep Jamming so I was wondering if i should get BB bastard. Thanks:)

Bad BB's = Jam
BB Bastards = Good BB ---> BB bastard = No Jam |
