Incomming, VFC HK417!!!
Hi guys!
So, one of my favourite rifles of all time (Even though it was created not long ago!) is coming in the new future!! I'm talking, of course, of the HK417! I know that there were quite a few players that would be interested in the HK416's 7.62 big brother! Apparently, the first airsoft replica would be coming from VFC. As they already have a GBBR and AEG 416, making the 417 version wouldn't be too hard to make! Here's a picture I took from airsoft2day: http://www.nlairsoft.com/images/stor...c-hk-items.jpg Also, in the next picture, you can see something that looks like a 417, the 5th gun from the left!: http://www.airsoft2day.com/index.php...d=940&type=img Now, I know some of you might already have heard about this prototype, as I do, but I thought some might find it interesting!!! One side note, though, A GBBr version would be awesome! Also, we don't know if the 417 will be compatible with Magpul PTS 7.62 mags of they will be proprietary parts! |
Someone posted this in another thread. I'm really glad that VFC is making the 416C and 417. Both the 416 and 416C are going to be available as an AEG and GBBR. However, right now the 417 is only going to be an AEG, but hopefully they make a GBBR verison.
|
Odds are, the mags will be proprietary, considering the VFC SCAR-H used proprietary mags.

I hope they keep the the trade marks like the RS and not butcher it like the last 416.
|
Made my day.

finally

Im more excited for the 416c.
|
416c has potential
|
I don't know why H&K went all G36 with their mags, what a horribly cumbersome mag.
It's too bad they couldn't reuse the G3 mags, but they should have kept the flat sided mags so you can put more than 1 in a pouch lol |

Nobody makes the 417 true but 4 make the SR 25 (A&K, G&G, G&P and Jing Gong) and three of them are compatible with Pmags (with a bit of sanding in the mag sometime needed but still).
Never tried the 7.62 pmags on my RS (only regular G36-like mags) but given the amount of magpul fashion addicts (me included) I would hardly see them not making it compatible. And given they can't use the same line as the SCAR mags there would be no excuse to do proprietary. And the "unhandy" G36 mags consider this : - Fully translucent : I always know what's in (even on Pmag you won't be able to tell soon enough) - Big with non-flat surface : easy to grab and hold gloves or no gloves (regular AR15 : slip quite easily) - No need for redy mag (100/150+ USD accessory) : I couple them and fast reload (its own point) - Thick sides and polymer : if it bends, come back in place (on AR15 you're screwed and it happens quite a lot) The G36 is also getting new mags as part of IDZ project (thinner but still with coupling, kinda like a Sig 55x serie, 556 aside) but no matter how much I like the 417 the G36 will always be superior to any AR platform (yeah I said it :D). ...now if Mylord H&K could please make a 7.62 version that would be great... |
416c is cool, the 417 is just awesome though.
Who will be bringing these in????? |
Too bad hk stop going forward with 416c due to gas system issue
|
No news about the HK417? No updates?
|
i see it is up on the airsoft GI website for pre-order, but its almost 500$
|
ETA on it is 30th of march. maybe a guy could order one and get it into canada now that the fps rule has changed.

A lot of thread posted on Hkpro stating Hk had reliability issue with Hk416c and possibility that they destroyed the prototype after the project was terminated.

One update! According to WGCshop, the 417 would be an aeg, AND A GBBR!!!!
|
What happened to this, who is bringing these in and for what price???
|
|
Find myself wondering the same thing. I was planning on picking one up this summer, but I haven't heard any news regarding the 417. What's the word on these badboys?
|
No one has more news? Im really looking forward for that 417!
|
Couldn't wait for it i had to get the vfc hk 416 but im still interested in that 417 no date on when their gonna be available?
|
When I was at the Ohio Airsoft Expo I got to take a closer look at one, here is a Pic of My Gf holding the 417. I wish I was able to tell you guys more about it, but the Umarex guys were very busy and we didn't have a lot of time to talk with them.

Do you know if the 416c was a GBBR or AEG?
|
It was an AEG.
|
it will be a GBBR version, according to the VFC 2012 catalog...
In addition, the ETA for airsoftGI is July 14 and they are taking pre-orders now.... want to buy hk417 so bad.... |
Quote:
|
WGC has preorders up for the VFC M27 IAR as well. GBBR
|
The 417 has a proprietary gear box; it's elongated into the grip, if memory serves. I still might try to pick one up, but I'm on the fence about it right now.
|
according to ASGI.. 1 month till it is released. (july 14th)

I wonder if he ever noticed that the rear sight is mounted backwards.
I suppose it's only fitting that he have an Infinity Ward special to go with the MW2 mask. That aside, thing looks solid. |
417
Well I have just watched two reviews and breakdowns of the VFC 417 and boy do I want one bad. They just need to write the FPS on the ASGI site and then I will order one. 450 fps is too high so I will definately lower the fps with a new spring.
|
Is there a longer version available out there somewhere?
|
417
Well I have just come back from NY state with a buddy of mine who had pre-ordered the 417 from ASGI. They gave him a really hard time with all the trades on the gun but they still late it through.
I have to say with all honesty its the probably the most solid airsoft gun I have seen. It's freaking gorgeous, and not as large as thought it was going to be! The Stock and the mag are stunning! This gun just feels right in the hand but not on the wallet! I have to save a bit before i get one , and oh im getting one! |
What about mags any word on how easy/impossible it will be to get mags.
|
Extras
I'm sure that mags will become available soon, and probably a barrel extension. I have not heard, read or scene anything about a longer barrel version. If someone knows for sure please let us know.
|
Held the first HK-417 on the east coast of the US yesterday. Very well built AEG!! Upside is the build quality looks and feels amazing. Downside is proprietary mags. Gun sold in less than 5 minutes, I waited too long to get the Visa card out.....

What store are you talking about.

Really like the V2 gearbox. But I wonder is it compatible with standard hop ups and such. I want to make this into a DMR.

Mags
Airsoft GI has the mags, high cap and mid. They are no where near as expensive as I though they would be. Roughly $25 is not bad for a hube fake bullet mag that proprietary. Man I'm frothing at the mouth for this gun. My buddy brought it over tonight I shot it at some targets in my basement..I have a long basement! It crono'd at 450 fps with .2. So a new spring will be order to lower it down for field and CQB. It just feels so right in the hands and against the shoulder!
|
pisses me off that i got a 416 with the old stock, the new ones come with that nice stock like on the 417
|
Stock
Ya I know thats why I'vee been holding off on buying a 416. The new ones are now with the proper stock. For me that stock makes a big difference!
|
I could see you being able to buy the stock separately later.
|
I will be waiting for the longer versions:

Longer
WOW I didnt know that they are coming out with a longer version....looks like I will be waiting too!!
|
Wow.
Dang, that looks legit. Maybe I should buy one. Whats the pricing for the AEG?

i found this on airsoft world
http://www.airsoft2day.com/news/784-...hk417-aeg.html The new type H&K crane stock will not be sold separately, as H&K did not give Umarex the license to do so; apparently they fear that replica stocks could mistakenly find their way onto real firearms. By http://www.airsoft2day.com - World Airsoft News - Read full article: http://www.airsoft2day.com/news/784-...#ixzz21ybL1Kj4 i also learned thast the new version 416 has the same hopup as the new 417 |

Oh man !
Okay, now I'm dissapointed! Ya got my hopes up and then dashed them...sigh.
|
So anyone bought 417 yet?
|
Has any one heard anything about longer versions yet? Or even barrel extensions and 12 inch RIS for this gun?
|
I'm curious on the hop-up. Is it a redesign v2 hop-up to go with their new v2.2 gearbox? Any pictures on the internals?
|
417
Well If you want one Toronto Airsoft has them in stock. They also have the 416 instock as well. The 416 is almost $200 more than what my friend paid for and brought up from Airsoft GI. Oh well.

I contacted VFC through their facebook asking about longer versions of the HK417, they replied:
"Elite Force will release HK417 350C, which is 350 pieces limited HK417 sniper version." https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...41852243_n.jpg |
Oh dear, limited to 350 pieces... makes me want one of them even more.
|
anyone know which pouch to use with hk 417 mags? i cant find any :banghead:

Wouldnt G36 pouches work?
|
That 417 sure is pretty ... Definitely a want !

Loads of manufacturers are making HK417 pouches (LBT and TYR Tactical to name some) |
How much does the VFC HK 417D go for?
There's a place in Pacific Mall that has it for somewhere around $600. |
539$ on sale on torontoairsoft.com

More info from VFC:
"Dear Sir Sorry for late reply. About your question: 1. We will release 20”barrel of the HK417, but 16 “ version not plan to release. 2. We didn’t have any plan to release 12” RIS Kit for the HK417 now but we will consider the respond of the marketing." HK417D - The HK 417 Sniper Platform Special Edition - Airsoft - YouTube |
If there's any retailers out there that can reserve one of the 350 long barreled 417's for a full payment up front I would be happy to oblige....
- Cancel that, I went with the standard version... |
Does anyone know how to get the flash hider off this? I don't want to muck up the barrel too bad with pliers.
Also, this gun looks sexual. |

I didn't end up going after the 20" one, went for a 12'" with a 250mm suppressor and extended inner. Only trouble is attaching the suppressor. :/
|
Is it glued on Dane?
|
Yeah it was Jeff. Managed to get the flash hider off with a hairdryer, covering the outer with electrical tape, and a monkey wrench.
|
Looks like they are taking pre-orders now

would the 20 RND 7.62 PMAGs work on these?
|
I want one. Anyone know who will get a few of these in stock?
|
Can some please take measurements of the 417 magazine and post it.
|
Height: 16 cm
Width: 3.5 cm Length: 8.3 cm Keep in mind the magazine has a curved shape. Most .308 pouches are designed for straight magazines (M14, G3, SCAR-H, etc) |
The universal mag pouches from Ur-Tactical wotk fine :
http://www.ur-tactical.com/index.php...category_id/80 I've been using them for a while on my RS with one mag per pouch so I'm not having issues with the grooves on the mag. And to answer the question on Pmag : no, the HK417 uses specific mags because it's not a long gearbox, the barrel continues inside the receiver and the hop up is exactly at the same place as in a M4. Even on my RS I don't use Pmags given it's a lot easier to see how much rounds I have left. |
Thought this might peak some interest:
http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/...AEG-LHK417-BK3 Saves the trouble of buying $200 worth of parts to make a 16" variant, which is the only method at the moment of making the best looking HK417 variant. |
