Is it legal to ship clearsoft into Canada?
I was wondering if it was legal to ship clear airsoft guns across the border, or will they get confiscated? (if I was to buy a Kraken AK from PyramidAir).

Is it illegal to search for yourself? Nope.
Its supposedly legal, and supposedly not. Depends on the agent that reviews the package when they run it through. Some will consfiscate, some won't. Why don't you just buy a kraken from within canada? Or, better yet, save up and get age verified so you're not tossing money down the drain. Think about it. |

It is legal to import clearsoft. Chance of confiscation is quite low.
Not sure why you'd want to though, since they are available in Canada. Support Canadian businesses.

The Kraken in Canada is usually 180$ in Canada, but on Pyramidair it is 140$... I might just go with Canada then.

Convert the USD to CAD, Add shipping then compare the pricing.
You're not saving much at all to be honest. Last edited by Strelok; February 5th, 2010 at 04:10.. |

So, lets do the math here. Its late, and I'm bored. $140 USD for a kraken, converting that from USD to CAD roughly gets you $148 CAD Pyramid Air charges 25 bucks USD for standard shipping to Canada. So lets punch this info into this duty calculator : http://www.thefinalcost.com/shipments/calculate/ CAD$ 250.96 for the gun to get here, if it does. So much for saving. *Edit* This got me thinking. Expect another comic soon. Last edited by Strelok; February 5th, 2010 at 05:07.. |

Brokerage Fees...
Do not forget brokerage fees. In order to import anything into Canada a broker has to clear the product. Depending on the product the brokerage fee can be considerable.
In the cases of some companies they will deliver the package and then send you a bill for the brokerage fees after! UPS did this to me and the cost was close to 20% of the value of the product. Chances are after you factor in shipping and brokerage fees the cost will be pretty close to $180.00... Trust me on this I have a brokering license... |
