battery charging

Okay I posted this in the battery FAQ too, but My new battery just got in today and I need to charge it... so I need an answer. looks like I won't get a quick answer in the other thread... at least I tried not to make a new topic just for that!!!

Never charge over 1C

0-1799 MAH @ 0.9A

1800+ MAH @ 1.8

Charge it on .9

The light will be red.

Once the light turns green, Its charged.

Don't worry about overcharging it, that charger will stop the charge once its full.

That being said, you still shouldn't leave it plugged in any longer then you have too.

I can't choose the capacity thingy. I just have a selector for .9 or 1.8A.

since my battery is a 8.4v 2200 mAh, I take it I should charge at 1.8?

edit before I post: I guess by "Never charge over 1C" you meant "never overcharge you battey"? lol. I figured that as I was typing. My charger is a smart charger, so I guess I can leave it on all night long, it'll just stop charging when its full...

k thank, I'll take Amos advise on the Amp, but I'll take your's as far as unplugging it as soon as I notice it's full. thanks!

Though you can charge your battery as fast as you want (1.8 A/hour vs. 0.9 A/hour) It is generally considered a good idea to charge it as slowly as possible.

I only use the 1.8 setting if i am at a game, and time is an issue.

Same here, if you have some spare time, charge it slowly. I also have 2200mah and I set my charger to 1.20amp.

1C = Battery MAH / 1000

1000 MAH battery = 1.0 Amps

If your battery is 0 to 1799 MAH, use 0.9A to charge it, if it's 1800+ use 1.8 MAH to charge it.

For the rest of you, thanks for your answers. I just trust Amos cause I've read many of his posts and discussed with him in PM a few times, and he seems to know his thing a lot. Also I have some really basic knowledge in electicity (very basic), and what he said remind me some notions from the past. lol. I kinda trust those posts. but still, thank you for your kind answers, its been helpful

I think we can now close this thread, as I got all the information I needed! anymore information would be best given in the battery faq in the accesory section, as it will be more helpful to others there than it'll be here!!!
