ICS Stock Wall Charger

anyone using the stock charger that came with the ics gun? apparently the charge rate is 600ma 3-9v and has red (charging) and green (not charging) indicators. sounds like it suffices as a slow charger, or should i forget it and buy a better one?

also, if im charging a 9.6v 2000mah battery at 600mah, in theory it should take 2000/600=3.33hrs ?

Whenever a gun comes with a battery and charger, 9 times outta 10 you can trash em as they are usually of such low quality. Only reason they are "included". Buy aftermarket batteries and get a quality smart charger. They will end up paying for themselves.

Yes that is correct, you divide your battery mah, by the chargers out put per hour.

Generally people prefer to higher quality chargers than the simple dummy chargers that come with most packages.
Due to the fact that mid-higher level chargers can have their charge rates and cut off times set, among other perks.

yeah i still have mine and still use it. It's horrible takes me like 7 hours to charge fully.

Throw the wall charger in the garbage (seriously, do it. I also save the mini connector off it for later use if I want) and buy a smart charger.

I use only it only because my friend does not have a smart charger and I let him use mine :/

Used it twice for my 9.6 1400mah battery for 2 games.

Nope have to multiply it by 1.5 because its a NIMH battery....and theoric physic equations dont really apply to real situation because theydepend on material, quality, batt chemistry....

So it should be (2000/600)x1.5=4.8 hours....

I was not aware battery composition had anything to do with charging time. However I am not an expert on the topic.

It has to do with how efficient the cells are at retaining energy. For example, Ni-Mah are more effcient cells than Ni-Cad, and retain about 80-85% of the energy put into them (thus charge time for NiMah is charge rate times 1.2), whereis (IIRC) NiCads are around 70-75% effcient (charge rate of 1.25 times mA output).

I could be wrong, but I think that's about right.
