A question on Storage!?

Hello! I know there's a few requirements for actual functioning guns to be locked up in safe's and so on. But what about airsoft guns?

No legal requirements at all.

As Styrak said, no legal requirements.

But, can you imagine if for some strange reason a police officer was in your home and saw your stuff laying about?
Or a younger brother/friends brother or just a friend, popped over and man-handled, tore up your stuff?

I'd at least try and hide it.

Moral requirement: Lock your guns or at the very least, keep them out of sight.

I'm personnaly not very fond of the wall hanger, unless they are in a locked or dedicated "gun room" that has no windows.

Extremely good point. As cool as it is to have what looks like a real AK-47 hanging off your wall, if your neighbors can see it, so can any random. I just keep mine in their original boxes with the lid turned inside out and shove em under my bed.

Can't go wrong

If you treat them with the same respect and care with respect to storage as a real firearm.

Locked up out of sight.

I second Brian.
It's not a legal requirement, but since they look like guns...
it's a Damned Good Idea.
You can buy a small gun locker from Canadian Tire for around $100, less if you find a sale. It's a long term investment that I would consider worth the money.
Second choice is an old school locker, or a wooden cabinet with a hasp on it for a padlock, or a locking trunk.
The key here is 'locking'. A lock should keep nosy people out, which should help keep the airsofter out of trouble...

I just store it like a firearm, trigger lock, secure it into a bag, and have it secure the bag would not be removed easily. (aka 3 locks total: 1 on the gun, 1 on the case, 1 the case to my bed)

Honestly, if we're truly to get airsoft legalize in Canada, (which the only way is to legalize it as free firearm) we need to show that we are responsible. Don't use the law as the standard, its the minimum. Just like keeping your doors lock for your car.

storage

I store my MP5 in a gun bag and put a lock on the zipper and store that in a wall unit bottom cubboard. GBB is in a locked pistol case in the same area, and mags, batteries and ammo are stored in a lockable toolbox in the same area... following what everyone is saying though, keeping it all out of sight is a good idea...
