Question airsoft clothing - community attitude?

I'm new to the airsoft community, having played paintball for years.

I'm curious: what's the general attitude toward clothing in airsoft?

In paintball, people couldn't care less if someone wants to play in jeans and a t-shirt.

I get the impression from reading some threads people frown upon casual clothing in airsoft.

???

Well.. if it's your very first game.. people aren't likely to complain. But generally a set of BDU's (camos) is regarded as part of the minimum kit for playing airsoft.

Airsoft is about a lot more than just the gun.

Wearing clothes is a good idea. At present the are no teams or fields that permit nudity.

Generally only time casual clothes are acceptable are if the team your playing on is the terrorist/criminals/whatelsehaveyou and non bdu is part of the team uniform.

I don't know about that, there are several PMC teams. They are just private contractors like blackwater ops or private security forces. Gear such as vests, rigs, etc. of course, with more civilian clothing perfectly fine. They are properly equipped but wear normal clothing and this is perfectly in tune with the real world.

^ I think that's the key point with most airsofters: we want as much realism as safely possible. So if the impression you're going for is Private Military Contractor (PMC), then "civillian" clothing under a vest or similar is realistic. Running around in jeans & a t-shirt isn't. The above mentioned terrorist/criminal role being the exception.

Play in whatever the hell you want.

Personally, I'm working on a pink bunny suit.

He means the fact that Rawdon field is a narrow forest away from a gay nudist camp, and it's normal (yet highly avoided for obvious reasons) to come into contact with nude sunbathers..................... not always just walking around if you catch my drift. Lol

But whatever one wants to wear is up to them, next weekend we are attending a themed game, my team is dressing up as rednecks. But for the sake of team placement, jeans and T-shirt will not only make you get shot easy, it'll be impossible to even place you on a team if it's set up as green BDUs vs. desert BDUs.

I was looking around DS tactical (Dave's Surplus in New West, B.C.) and I would do anything to wear this to Airsoft.

I want to do a similar loadout to the guy with the pistol

See you don't need camo to be kickass.

Guardsmen trump Colonial marines

Indoors maybe, but you'd look ridiculous and conspicuous and easy to target outdoors.
