Getting into gaming.

Okay I have just started recently to get into gaming, and I would like to know what are some necessitates for games?

So far I have:
Woodland BDU
FSBE LBV Load Bearing Molle Vest
ICS M4/TM M4 (whichever feels better for me)
Hiking boots
Mags
Canteen
Map
Whistle
Cell Phone
Small first-aid kit.

Is there anything else I need?

Do you NEED to have a side arm?

No you don't NEED a sidearm, but it is nice to have. You'll also need eye protection and gloves.

Seems like your missing the most important gear in your loadout. Goggles. Dont cheap out on these either. Find out what the requirements are for your local fields and purchase accordingly.

You might wanna get a spare battery or two as reserves. If you haven't already get a quality charger too.

goggles, gloves, something to eat, kill rag if required by field, BB's, you do not need a sidearm.

Here's the kit list I have posted on our forums (RAAT). We don't currently do indoor so the kit list is geared exclusively for outdoor woodland gaming.

Absolute Must Haves! No Ifs, Ands or Buts!

- Approved eye protection for field (includes a head strap)
- Good pair of boots (8” high minimum)
- Gun
- Batteries (spares are a good idea, bring charged)
- BBs
- Mags and mag loading tool
- Water (camel back is possibly best solution going)
- Gas for your guns (if using a gas gun)
- Uniform (military camo or subdued earthy colors like OD, Khaki, tan, etc. No street clothes)
- Kill Flag (red rag works. Not all fields require them but if you do not have one, you will be shot even after calling hit)

Items that are not absolutely necessary, but highly recommended.
Some may be required depending on the game. Check the game rule set before going to make sure you have everything you need.

- Radio and spare batteries (use and ear bud or head set if possible)
- Hat
- Gloves
- Mouth guard (bbs can shatter teeth)
- Bug juice
- Sunscreen
- Whistle (get lost or use for milsim)
- Rain gear
- First aid kit (accidents happen)
- Anti fog kit for goggles
- Food or snacks (hunger makes you ineffective)
- Map of area if available

Other optional items.
Some may be required depending on the game. Check the game rule set before going to make sure you have everything you need.

- Flashlight (may not need for day game but at night!!)
- Compass (for large and new fields)
- Camo (face paint, scrim, hessian)
- Binos or spotting scope (can use rifle scope if it magnifies)
- Spare Socks
- Sleeping gear (if a long milsim)
- Pocket Knife or better yet, a good Multitool
- Hygiene kit (remove cam, clean off face paint to go out to dinner after)
- Grenades/ Smoke
- Eating Utensils (if necessary based on what you packed for food)
- Cellphone or means to contact real world if accident occurs
- GPS (if new field or a damn huge one)
- Civvies to go out later!

~Edit~ should mention this list was originally posted on the EAR boards by MUD and used with permission. I have modified the original list.

Since you live in Burnaby, I assume you are going to be gaming at Panther most often(I live in Burnaby too)

Please register on Opfor forums and browse the rules there, they are the ones that runs the game at Panther Paintball.

I was hoping to but since I'm 15, I won't be allowed to, so I'm going to go to Bigfoot and game with FVA unless OP-For makes an exception, which I doubt it.

Seeing how i'm just a "little kiddie" to all the older guys there.

Well, for what its worth, your attitude and what I can tell from reading your posts about your level of respect towards others and the sport itself is encouraging.

Unfortunately, you're right, Op-For will probably not allow you to play, however, if (and please don't quote me on this, I'm not entirely familiar with Op-For's rules myself) an exception is made, which isn't unheard of for some clubs, you'll have to bring a parent and/or guardian and have them play with you. It's not impossible, but unlikely.

But I can say that from what I can tell, you're on your way to being able to play when you're 16, as long as you keep up the respect. Lots of kids here try to play that "I'm mature" game.

Oh yeah and being that you're in Vancouver, I'd say a good set of rain gear would be in order. Or spares of things.

Oh, aside from first aid, any emergency medication you would need. You never know what might happen, I remember once I was in a paintball (yeah boo's in the background I know) field and this guy was running a little too fast without having warmed up properly. Nobody knew he was an asthmatic (and his parents left him at the field), and we were all confused when he started making a choking sign. Anyway, luckily someone had an emergency inhaler with them and helped him out until the paramedics showed up.
Point is, be prepared for any situation, just in case. God forbid that it won't happen, but accidents occur.

Oh okay, thanks. I probably will just head down to Mission for FVA and play there until I am of age.
