Newbie magazine question!

I bought this: http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=440, and I was wondering where I could buy a bigger magazine for it. I was thinking about this one: http://www.shootsoft.ca/clearsoft/pr...roducts_id=115, but I'm not sure if it will fit/work well in my gun. Does anyone know if it would work, or point me to any other one that would work? Thank you.

Any MP5 mag, Just check Airsoftparts.ca

Also for games you really don't want a bigger mag, High-caps are gay.

2 or 3 midcaps should be good enough for a short engagement. If you need more than that then stop spraying.

Also hi-caps give away your position and I feel you're at a disadvantage if you have one. It's not as bad when it's full but you pretty much have maracas rattling when you're down to 75% of the hi-caps capacity.

Just a note that mags are one of the few things you're allowed to import (except ones with fake bullets) so if you take a pander through the international retailers you might find it for cheaper (dont forget about shipping/duties though).

redwolf has an great selection of MP5 mags. Myself I bought the 10 mid cap pack and although they are plastic they hold 120 rds.

Myself at a milsim might go threw whats on my vest in an entire day. 5 Mid (120), 4 Low (50) and 2 Real caps (30).

But thats in a 24hr game. If its just skirmishing then maybe a mid cap or 2 depending how much cover Im giving out.

Other then that all I can say is do not get hi caps. Horrible horrible invention they are.

THIS!! Everyone else posting here (minus tex) didn't look closely at the link. It is not a TM compatible gun. It might take TM mags, but i doubt it.

WTF? Runs on batteries or spring?

Yea, I'm guessing that POS won't take TM compatable mags.

Ghilliesuit, do yourself a favour, save up $300 and get a real airsoft gun.

The "customers who bought this also bought" section included what I thought was a standard Hi-cap so I assumed. Good call though.

Wow.... Taking a second look I'm not so sure anymore. It seems like a "Boys" version or something. That is to say that it might be smaller and not be able to accept standard TM mags.

Also the AA battery thing.... That alone kind of makes it worthless not to mention that it only shoots 250 FPS with .12's (using .20's will make it even slower such that it's worthless unless you're plinking).

Hmm, Maybe.

Although the "battery or spring!" thing, that makes me wary

Thank you for your kind words, hopefully everyone on these boards is as kind as you are.

So basically, I just need a few more small mags, and would this one work? http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=16541

Again looking at it again it MIGHT or it MIGHT NOT.

We're not sure. First flag is that it runs on AA batteries. Those are usually used in "Boys" versions.

Also like I said, 250 with .12's you're going to have a lot of trouble running .20's which is the minimum suggested weight.

EDIT: I don't know any clubs out there but CIA (Central Island Airsoft) is probably your nearest club (play out near Duncan IIRC).

If the gun runs off of AA batteries (and 250 fps with .12), chances are it takes proprietary mags. When buyairsoft have parts for their guns they usually list in the sale such as "buy an extra rail, mag, etc for this gun" in the listing. They have every accessory listed except mags. So my guess is you're SOL and won't find any mags that will fit it. You can try, but chances are pretty good that you'll have extra mags you can't use.

Not to shit on you here, but at under 180 fps with .2g (the lowest weight you should use), this gun really is garbage. You would have been better off with the clear junk they sell at Canadian Tire over this thing.
