I've known some people too do that, but honestly most pants will take a bb well enough unless your doing CQB. But hey better to be safe then sorry!
I'd recomend those new kind like I've got for hockey. It's like shorts with it in them as opposed to the ones with straps and such. Much comfier. |

I got hit down there a few times with denim jeans on at mid-range. Wasn't bad at all. I wouldn't bother.

I really don't care much. Wherever the BBs hit is fine but except my face and my pinky.

Funny/sad story.
Not too too sure how it happend, but to sum it up I got a nice 2-3 round burst there, left a welt or 2. Stung a bit for a few mins but everything was/is okay. I wouldn't bother, it's sorta luck of the draw. Most people try and him for the chest area or head if it's the only thing popping out.

I got shot in the nuts 5 times in a row in 2-3 games, some quite close.
Not my idea of a fun time, but not that bad either. |

I can see it only being uncomfortable to be wearing. I would say only if you really feel a real strong need for it.

I'd only wearing a cup if playing some sort of zombie game. elsewise, your pants are protective enough... on the other hand, if you like to play naked, wear a cup.

I'd also recommend wearing a stiff shirt and/or a vest for nipple shots. Never underestimate the amount of pain that can be incurred if you get shot in the nipple.
