High cap, is winding, usually 300 or more rounds, Mid cap is spring usually 68 to 150 rounds, low cap is 30

hi-caps also rattle alot when full, do not feed as well as mid and locaps and are not approved for use in true milsim games.

winding highcaps is a pain. when your getting shot at, its faster to just reload. I carry about 10 midcaps on me usually, but i never use more than 5 at the most.

Real-cap user here.

I bought some realcaps just because they were cheap and added to the realism. I am now looking into midcaps (that is after I get my next pay).

Hicaps are generally not recommended because they rattle, you need to wind them (exception for the motorized winding ones), and it's usually banned in mil-sim games (and some skirmishes because they want to keep to the realism thing).

The only good thing about hi-caps is that a lot of guns come with them, so you can play with the gun without needed to buy a ton of mags right away.

I've had my G36 for 3 years now, and have used it's hicap twice -once right after I got, and once more against a team who only used highcaps and pretended they each had fire hoses.

Other than milsim games, most people won't care if you have a highcap, though there are a few things you should be aware of:

1) They rattle and make noise and are a pain in the arse to wind.

2) Many games put an ammo restriction. They'll say like 'max 400 rounds on you'. So if your highcap holds 470 rounds, you can only put 400 in it, and only have one.

3) If you're using a highcap and don't execute proper trigger control, like short, controlled bursts, you'll lose a lot of people's respect very quick. There's few things in airsoft I hate more than people hosing with highcaps like they have a machine gun. In fact, this is one reason I discourage new players from using them if possible. They don't force you to control your ammo usage and encourage the "spray and pray" mentality of gaming.

4) Reloading under fire is totally fun. Seriously, you have no idea how much fun it is to be in a firefight, run out of rounds, be like "fuck.." and have to swap mags while taking fire. I think people who only use highcaps rob themselves of that fun.

5) Like was mentioned above, most mil-sim games don't allow highcaps at all -mostly for reason number 3 stated above. People are willing to accept that not everyone has realcaps... but there's a big difference between 50-100 rounds in a mag and 300.

alright then ima look into some mid caps. b4 i do, can anyone make it easier and give me a link to some that will work with aftermath broxa (mp5). also, does metal mags make a difference or is it as well, just for realism? are they stronger? generally better mechanics?

Other than astectics, I have honestly found NO difference in the performance of metal mags vs. plastic ones. Metal ones are more durable, and won't likely separate if you overload them (like STAR MP5 mags), but they're also more expensive.

King arms 100 round mags. I use STAR 30 round ones myself, but my buddy uses those in his broxa and likes them.

It all depens on the brand of mag. If you drop a plastic mag it may break. Metal magazines are obviously more robust than their plastic counterparts. Here are a few links of sites to look at.

Avoid KA mags at all costs... I have seen way to many players at games complaining about their guns not feeding right, mag not seating in the magwell properly, ect ect and each of them were KA mags... Put in one of my TM ones and fires perfect..
