Hop up affect the fps ?
I run the ICS M4 with the stock inner barrel and stock plus everything are stock. It shot 320 to 325 constantly.
I plan to use her for next week game which is outdoor and indoor so I switch to the longer barrel, MadBull M16 Length 6.03 mm. The fps is slightly increase from to 340 to 345 fps constantly. I turn the hop up on the gun to increase accuracy and it goes very good but after the chrono again, the fps decrease from 345 fps to 330 fps constantly. I turn off the hop up to normal, the fps increase back to 345 fps. I just wonder if it's the true that the hop up affect the fps like I mention about ? I already did the compression and it show the seal is perfect. Thanks in advance. KND

Yes, hop up will lower your FPS, and in some occasions(very rare, happens in some guns), increase your FPS.
Think about it, what hop up basically does is it puts an rubber objection on the top of the barrel. If you threw a beer can at an asshole's face, it wouldn't keep going forward would it? |

Thanks everyone. I'm much appreciate for clear me out.
By the way, What kind of hop up rubber do you guy recommend beside the prometheus ? Thanks. I test the G&P hop up rubber and it's really suck, it's more worth than my ICS stock rubber. I'm waiting for Guarder one from airsoftparts, hopefully it will do the job good on the modify one piece hop up to fit on ICS M4. KND

The Guarder clear ones are quite nice....I've been using them for years. The Systema ones are pretty good for sub-350 fps guns, but I find they wear out rather quickly.
