Importing M4 Mags
|
|

Eh, it's going to be a gamble... if the CBSA officer is smart enough to notice that it has no follower large enough to hold any bullet whatsoever he might let it through, on the other hand the world's full of idiots.

No, it is NOT illegal. People have imported those plastic mags before many times.

Mags are legal to import and the majority of the time, it isn't a problem.
That being said, I imported 4 MP5 mags from the US last year. They got held up in customs for over a week. And in this time, the customs officers decided that each one of my mags needed to be disassembled completely. In the process, they lost one of the pins that holds the mag together. And they didn't even attempt to reassemble them. They just stuffed everything into a the box, wrapped it in a plastic customs back and yellow customs take and sent the mess on its way. I've ordered mags from out of country many times though, and this was the only problem I encountered.

Yup. Real asshats. They could have taken 1 mag apart to see that it can't hold real ammo, and that would have been good enough. But no. They decided it was better to just take them ALL apart...

Hmmm.. I can't remember if it was summer or winter. I'll go search for my original post on it...
EDIT... Just checked. This was April 8th, 2008. So 1 year ago. NOT summer.

I remember that Crunch, at the time I had a box of M4 mags on order and was worried I would get the same asshat. I again have some PMAGS on order and you reminded me to worry again lol. BTW, how is the TM MP5 Boys version you got for your son working. I hope everything is well.

I forgot to say, these mags are in metal. will it be any different? God, customs are real annoying, and i don't want them to be dissassembled.

Metal makes no difference. A mag is a mag. The only ones that can possibly not make it across is ones with fake rounds, even though they're not illegal either.
