Gun Prices
Newb question, that's why I'm here . So I've been looking at the classifieds for about a month or so now just to see what people are selling and looking for something that I may want (mainly handguns). I've noticed people selling them for hundreds, depending on the model and/or how rare it is but I compared a seller's price of a handgun to one sold at an online store and the store price was WAY cheaper. Can someone tell me if I'm missing out on some information please? It'd be greatly appreciated.

same thing with the aeg's, prices "in country" are higher for airsoft guns due to the difficulty of importing them, it is basically a seller's market

The website you were most likely looking at was an american site. Guns there are about half of what they are here.
easy way to calulate. USA pricex2 + Tax = Canadian price!

The problem is most-likely that the online stores you were looking at were either Asian or US. Guns are much cheaper in both those locations due to the differences in laws. In Canada it's very difficult to impossible to get guns across the border into the country. The prices you see here are several times what is listed on the online stores because the supply is much less then the demand. Just to be clear so you don't end up wasting your money. It's impossible for you to order from one of those sites and actually get the gun. It will be seized at the border by customs and destroyed.

also many guns on the classifieds will come with upraded internals, aftermatket metal slides, and multiple mags. That and as was mentioned you were probably looking at an international retailer.

Don't forget that insane exchange rate.....so add 25% on the US prices. Then add in duty (between another 23-32%), and then your shipping. Then if it brought in to the country "legally", there is a brokerage fee on top of it all.
You do the math. SHA DO

Whatever the reason for the higher prices, expect to pay usually 2-3 times the price for an airsoft gun in Canada compared to what you'd pay for that same gun from an American or Asian retailer. Sometimes you may luck out and get good deals on a new gun, but that's a general price line you can expect to pay.
And as mentioned, often you find used guns that have been upgraded with metal slides, better internals, or sell with extra magazines or a holter. Often these are prices about the same or only slightly higher than the comparable gun new. They may cost a little more, but usually quite worth it...
