Deciding which M4
Hey guys, so im deciding to buy an M4 carbine. Ive never purchased a gun before, but based on my research, here are some of the things I would like.
1. 6-position adjustable M4 LE stock 2. R.I.S with vertical grip 3. ACOG/RDS (Still undecided). 4. Carrier handle on top rail. 5. Two side panels to cover up unused rail on front R.I.S. 6. Mostly metal (lower receiver is plastic as by law) Soo, Ive narrowed it down to two guns: 1. G&G GR16 R4 Carbine (However, i dont like how the battery is stored in an adjacent mag) http://b2b.guay2.com/eng_our_product/gr16_r4c.htm 2. ICS A1 RIS ICS-22 http://www.icsbb.com/eicsbb/page4.as...um=2&picid=397 So here are some questions I have: 1. What do you think of the 2 guns above and are there any others you would recommend that fit my criteria above? 2. Im not sure if its better to mount the scope on top of the carrier handle or directly on the rail. What do you think? 3. I like the appearance of the ACOG, but not sure if its better than the RDS. What do you think? Thanks for all your help, but mostly, your patience as I have very new with this. I appreciate it. |

check out the G&G GR16 R4 commando. it uses a crane stock to house the battery, and it looks damn near identical to the LE stock. other than that the gun is essentially the same.

There's the Classic Army M15A4 RIS, have heard good things about them and they meet your criteria nicely, minus the vert. foregrip. Rock solid body too, you can literally hold it by the barrel straight out and nothing creaks.

Thanks for the recommendation for the Classic Army. What about in terms of the scope?

Not true. If you are 18, you can meet with a rep for these boards and get "age verified". This will give you access to the full metal, full black airsoft guns available.
As for guns, I too will vote a Classic Army. They're very sturdy and have great bodies, and the internals are very good too.

hey Kalnaren, thanks for the information provided. If I am age verified, will I be able to purchase full metal parts from etailers across canada or does it have to be through the representatives from each province? How will they know that I am age verified? Thanks

I'd say on the carry handle. Mounting it on the rail would be too low to use with goggles.

Some guys can handle scopes and such, and different guns. It depends on you how you use your weapon. Also for the guns, ICS and G&G and two different brands with totaly different internals. |

Based on your experience and knowledge, which one has more sturdy and stable internals that can ultimately last longer? The only thing I know from the Beginners guide is the Gearbox types.

ICS, generally, has better internals. However, they use a proprietary mechbox design with a chunk of specific parts. There are a few other things about ICS guns that are proprietary as well IIRC. So, in the end, it's a better gun, but more expensive and harder to repair. You could always wait until you're AV'd and get a CA, or one of the others. G&G and ICS aren't the only two on the market. I also recommend that, before you buy, try and get out to a game to check out some other peoples' equipment. Airsofters are more than happy to show off their stuff.
