I think I cooked my battery!

Well I just got the SAM-R back today and I wanted to charge the battery so I could test the gun with the new mags. I plugged the battery into my smart charger (which Ive NEVER had a problem with, if fact I charged the battery 3 days before sending the gun off to be fixed) and left it. When the battery is charged the light turns green and the charger stops charging.

It usually takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to charge. I kept checking on and and checking on it and finally at the hour and a half mark the light was STILL red and my battery was HOT! Usually my battery gets a little on the warm side but never this hot!

Im still waiting for it to cool down at the moment.

battery works better when its hot.

i only used about 200 rounds with that battery, so I think you over charged it LOL.

because you charged it when it was still pretty much full.

the best time to plug off the battery is when it starts warming up, doesnt matter what ur charger says, if it starts warming up, its starting to overcharge.

Maybe your charger isn't good enough to peak detect your battery?

Its not a hopup problem it's a mag/body issue! They are Dboys VN mags which sadly worked perfectly with my stock TM but they wont work with my G&P unless I push them hard up into the gun.

Weird, it's your G&P magwell than. If it works with your TM, than it's the magwell of the G&P.
Hm, try silicone oil and slide it in and out, lube it up. If not, you'd need to sand down in your magwell.

Don't sand down the magwell just yet. I have King Arms 68 round metal mags, and they didn't feed properly in my G&P metal body. You had to push them up just like your situation Drache.

I had to file down the BB retainer in the mags, as the hopup was not pushing it out of the way far enough.

So yes, it is a hopup issue as far as I could say.

I already said it was the gun itself....

Lubing isnt going to sit the mags higher in the gun and neither will sanding. It means the hole in the side of the mags sit to high. Meaning sell the mags and buy TM mags which work without problems.

Im just going to dump these dboy mags as well as the G&P mag and just pick up TM mags since they work without problems.

Always check on your battery while its charging, I do every 20 - 30 minutes.
Also you want to stop once its "warm to the touch" thats when your battery is done charging.

What kind of "smart charger" is it?
I use a TLP 4000 and it beeps every few seconds when the battery is just warm to the touch and done.
