AEG firing perfectly on semi auto, but has misfeeding problems on full auto
Hi, I recently got the SRC/ TSD Gen III hk 416... and it was working perfectly, on full and semi auto, but he hop up needed to be changed, because of the bad quality of the bucking... so I changed the hop up rubber, and it was shooting perfectly both on semi and full auto....
that was 5 days ago today I tried it again and the gun was shooting perfectly on semi auto, but on the full auto mode, it was shooting 2-4 bbs, then it was blank shooting... or event double and triple feeding... but when turned upside down, it shoots perfectly on full auto PS: the gun has internal upgrades, such as a 6.03 tighbore barrel, upgraded gearbox, metal hop up, 8mm ball bearing... PPS: hop up is set to off thx Last edited by Gunny_McSmith; August 17th, 2008 at 20:50.. |

Try changing back to the other hop-up bucking and then shoot. If it's fine, than no need to buy new magazines.
If problem still exists, than it's the magazine. Borrow some of your buddies magazines first before buying new ones. It probably not be the magazine. Thing is if you always leave BBs in the magazine when not in use, the spring would not be strong enough to push and lose it's power. Might be your magazine lip. |

i always empty the mags after each use...., and what do you mean by the mag lip?

I don't think its the mag lip - I've seen that be a cause before, but based on your story, I don't think it could be that. If it were the magazine lip, I think you would have had trouble right off the bat.
I had to modify the mag lip in my King Arms M14 mids, because they didn't feed worth jack right out of the box. I recently worked on a SRC/TSD M16A3 that had some similar feeding issues and it turned out to be a crappy magazine. I think the rifle was about a month old. I've seen it before in several SRC-based rifles. SRC makes more-solid guns these days (compared to their past), but their magazines leave something to be desried.

ok, then I'll have to buy new mags, but what brand, type should I buy, and are the mags from ebaybanned good?

Before you try new mags, try dropping a little bit of silicon oil into where the BBs go into the gun. Some AEGs need a little lubrication there to work properly.

BTW the gun is only 2 weeks old

Are we talking 300 rounds straight on full auto? Yeah, that's normal. :|
So you've lubed the hopup intake, but have you tried lubing the magazine spring? This has been a fix to a number of star magazines in the past. |
