Welcome to the club. My KSC USPC safety cratered after a month. The switch parts in the frame are cheap pot metal and wear quick. I don't remember which part it was, but the safety switch iteslf was worn totally out. The gun iteslf fell apart within 6 months.

If you can find the part(s), you can swap them out and fix it temporarily, until it happens again. Unless you want to try to make decent steel parts or just happen to find them.

Dude, my KJW USP's safety NEVER worked. All you gotta do is pull the trigger hard enough and it goes. That being said, the most important safety is the shooter. Proper trigger control and a de-cocked hammer/empty chamber until you're ready to go hot = win.

Yeah, that'll happen over time (especially if you have a habit of pulling the trigger while it's on safe). It's probably just worn and I'd say not worth replacing anyways.

Try this mod: Hold your gun as you normally shoot it, and extend your trigger finger and rest it either along the side of the frame or across the trigger guard. To fire, bend your finger, pull trigger, then finger back to the rest position.

There you go, a brand new and very reliable safety for your gun.

Yeah, it's a double action pistol, so you need a pretty heavy trigger pull to get it to shoot anyway. Keeping a finger off the trigger should do the trick. Just make sure you decock it if there's a round in the chamber and you're going to holster it or something. That should be all the safety you need.

Trigger control aside, what's the solution here? My safety does squat now as well, and though I've never NDed mine, I'd still like it to be back in prime order, even if it is a sorta useless function. It's just worn down parts? 'Cause it looks pretty okay to me...

Is there a specific part that's commonly breaking, just so I know what to look for?

You could try KWAUSA for spare parts
http://store.kwausa.com/kwakp45partslist.aspx

But I sold my USP so I'm not sure which part is the guilty party.

I like how they're all schematic drawings and not pictures of the parts themselves

Kay, next time, instead of using the Search function, I'll just make a brand new topic!

Need a fix

I just got a brand new USP from one of the retailers here and unfortunately it came broke out of the box. Need to find a fix for this problem as well.

Anyone have answers?

USP safeties are a joke, even if you have it fixed it will break or stop working again. Learn proper trigger discipline and storage and you should be fine. My KWA KP45 Match had a non functioning safety, never had a problem with it functioning otherwise

I guess your right. I still would feel a bit more secure if it was working properly. Just in case someone managed to get a hold of the gun somehow and they accidentally fired it. I know that is highly unlikely to happen but a possibility.

I already did and I ended up deciding to keep the gun.
